Lyrics

Don't grow up
Don't grow up
Time is tickin' faster than I can stand
So don't grow up

Remember when you wore your Superman cape
and all the times I made your special birthday cake
you said, "it's perfect, mom," and ate it all up
oh, don't grow up

Your little flip flops and your orange Crocs
Your football cleats and your nike high tops
every year we had to size 'em up
oh don't grow up
don't grow up
time is slipping through my hands
so don't grow up.

No one ever said it was gonna be easy
But no one could have told me how hard it would be
Now all the sleepless nights are just a memory
Don't grow up
Don't grow up

With every line that shows up on my face
I'm reminded of the time that can't be replaced
I know I'm asking too much but
Don't grow up
Don't grow up

Can't you just stay the way that you are
I can't ever imagine you being too far
And I wondering if you think that I did a good job
oh, don't grow up
don't grow up
time is ticking faster than I can stand
so don't grow up

Don't grow up
Don't grow up
Look at you.
You're all grown up.

I feel this so deeply. The wistfulness and love in your voice comes straight through.

A write perhaps of every mother, @jessicamagoch , who so loves, and song played and sung so lovingly touches a heart... or so you, as well as parent listeners, no doubt, hope.

Oh this one hits *right* in the feels. I have three kids, one graduating high school this year, another in grade 10, and another in grade 7... and yeah. You wonder if you've done well enough and if they love you. We do the best we can as loving parents, you know?

Beyond that, nice melody and the chord structure does what it needs to! Is that a uke or guitar? (Kinda quiet in the mix)
