My First Slack Key Improv
by @saulius
Liner Notes
#slackkey #taropatch #alternatetuning
The first part of this song is a beginner slack key etude, and the second part (from the 4 chord) is my improvisation and an attempt to do a "vamp" (turnaround).

I'm not sure what slack key and I wish I knew what tuning you used, but none of that stopped me from enjoying this richly toned tune.

Beautiful playing, love the tone on your guitar and those delicious little trills on the refrain. I love some good fingerstyle and appreciate how technically challenging this is. Well played and beautiful composition!

For some reason Tahiti keeps running through my brain listening to this. As with @cts, I reckon you've achieved your goal (or overachieved, sounds effortless and professional, lovely bit of music and the harmonics right at the end are just so neat n sweet.
Had to look up "taro patch". so my own musical education continues! (Our garden taro didn't succumb to the frost this winter--we didn't have any--so the yard looks like a dry bayou).

I think your mission/intention has been fulfilled. If I’m thinking slack key is what I remember, you’ve tuned your guitar down. The sound is calming and wavy like an ocean. I needed this today. Very hectic in the office and I really just want to get home.
I never really tried different tunings. Maybe I should. But I think I need someone to look over the shoulder. Just to get some kind of idea how to get into it.
