i'm blowing out the cobwebs by catching up on collabs my overloaded 2024 self wasn't able to follow through on during last summer's 5090 challenge.

🚨 silly alert 🚨

this was a #PostcardChallenge song, lyrics by @lyricslinger in response to a postcard i sent him about lancy, the world's only purple cow (who allegedly lived just 150 miles east of me). pictured here:

simon's original notes:
"I received a nice postcard from Burr which featured Lancey, the world's only purple cow! The back of the card stated 'Lancey, the world's most unique and expensive cow, was born and raised in the township of Anderson County, PA. After receiving unprecedented awards in local stock shows, Lancey went on tour with the World Travelling Dunsmuir Freak and Geek Show. She nearly met her end in a fatal accident with an escaped Carmenian lion.'"

he posted it last summer with lyrics only, so i decided to bring the collab full-circle and put it to music. started with the #Country preset on my #Omnichord on a #Cassette #4Track and polished it off with overdubs of #Farfisa and #Fuzz and #Fingersnaps in the DAW. vox through a zoom V3 vocal processor. had fun twiddling knobs on the delay pedal toward the end...
