Liner Notes

Well this was an interesting challenge! Taking lyrics I didn't write paired with chords I didn't come up with and "fashioning" my own version of this song that I have NEVER heard before! I approached it the same way I would if I were given a chord and lyric sheet of a song I didn't know and took some lyric and chord liberties (as I would normally do) and THIS popped out! I did NOT listen to
any other version of this prior to my rewrite, but I will go check out how others interpreted this NOW for sure! Super curious what the rest of ya did! A very fun and interesting experiment! Thanks @metalfoot for hosting it! I hope I didn't butcher your song or idea TOO bad! Hahaha!

Used 12 string acoustic, Kala Tenor Uke, Bass, EZDrummer and vocals, and a smidge of Muted Electrics in the bridge to give it a bit of bounce along with some shakers.

Our road went on
The wedding bells rang
And we’re still singin’ our song

I like your rewrite of the lyrics. They fit well with your chord choices. This version feel so much more contemporary and happy. Very well done!

This is such a great 70s rock vibe. I like what you did with the lyrics, especially the chorus.

@angelinapowersuit Thanks so much for your comments on this! Did my heart good! I was a bit worried I was stepping too far outside the confines the challenge, so I am glad you enjoyed it! Blessings!

I like what you did with this. I really like the way the chorus turned out! Nice additions of chords,

Wow, that IS an interesting experiment! And you done good - especially like your chorus, and how perfectly hold onto the "true...." before revealing the big pay off. Your voice is very easy to listen to.

The uke layer on the chorus is a fun touch. I like the sustained vocal note at the end of the verses that resolves to the A7.

@jerrypettit Yes, in the sense that he provide the chord and lyric sheet and told us NOT put him down as a collaborator! It was an interesting challenge for sure! So now there are like 8 different versions of this same song out there! Hahaha!

Particularly love that Chorus! So this is "kind of" a collaboration with @metalfoot ? Really enjoyed it! ❤️

So sweet and easy to listen to! Love the extension at the end of each verse setting up the chorus.

what a fun take on the prompt. I really like the groovy beat that propels it along. Great vocals too and I really enjoyed hearing such a different take on the same lyrics/chords from my own. Nicely done!

This is a very pleasurable listen. You have a very smooth voice

This is fun, taking a little liberty with the lyric and chords; you've truly made it your own song! Enjoyable song!
