Liner Notes

Today I did a bit of an acoustic experiment in leaving space in a 6/8 chill groove. Started by recording some sparsely spread out open chords with my Seagull Maritime SWS 6 string (tuned down a full step) through Townsend Labs Sphere in stereo (then layered a few more acoustic tracks to embellish certain phrases, acoustic lead track), Bass direct, Synth (DIVA) playing nothing but C, Programmed some EZ Drummer drums. This was actually a lot more difficult to do than I thought it would be. Very chill laid back acoustic piece. Actually pretty happy with the result, just found it harder to get things to “fit” with such slow and sustained notes AND still leave space for notes to breath a bit. It was an interesting self imposed challenge. As always if you hear something you would like to add feel free! UPDATE: 02-13-25 My wife told me I need to can the shakers. Fellas! Your wife knows what she's talking about! Do what she suggests! Especially the day before Valentine"s Day! Mix has been appropriately updated. Added some live played brushes instead...suits the mood better I think?

This effort is delightful. The playing is tasteful and superbly done. It feels very cinematic and I can imagine hearing it in a movie located in a wide open local. Very well done.

Really good, tasteful music! This is an excellent example of the impact that open spaces can have on a tune. Guitars aren’t limited to shredding!!!! Good work!!!!
