Hi, Coming back for my 2nd FAWM. Looking forward to connecting with some new songwriters and visiting my friends from last year as well. What a great opportunity to work with talented people all over the globe! Looking forward to this! I am Peko on musesongwriters.com.

No worries, Patty. Totally understandable :)
Have a nice time.
[avatar]
Hi Patty, thank you for your warm note. Just to say, I'm not Nadine. Nadine is another songwriter on FAWM. She is truly amazing. We have similar name so no worries.
[avatar]
Patty, I'm glad you've found please in typing all those aaaa's. That's the fun of it.
[avatar]
@jeff9
Thank you, Patty. Your sweet comments about "Like God Does" and "Gabrielle" really warm my heart because they're two of my favorites this FAWM (along with your wonderful "Always You".
[avatar]
@nadine
You're welcome. Sometimes I believe that certain character traits attract certain instruments... but I also know very introverted guitarists and outgoing drummers. The DAW is like an instrument with many knobs. Sometimes way too many, and they change with updates. Argh!
[avatar]
Hi there,
I’m Eric Lichter. You’re right… Jeff Kelly is my band mate. I can’t recall if you left me your email but it’s probably somewhere in the message thread. Mine is lichtere@comcast.net
Hope to collaborate in the near future. 5090 seemed kind of far away :-)
[avatar]
Patty, you have ALWAYS (at least for the "several" decades I've known you) been a glass-half-full kind of person! 😀

When are you going to hear a song from me? I'll just say "Don't hold your breath." 😬
[avatar]
@mikeb
Thanks for the comment on 'Dreamer'!
[avatar]
@greengrassgirl
I’d love to collab w/ you! I’ll be around.
[avatar]
Thanks so much for the explanation. I'll consider that too for one collab I thought would be done. I appreciate your taking the time to catch me up. Though my first FAWM was a while back, I've only been pretty active the last year or two.
[avatar]
@deena
Thanks for your kind comments! It is great to connect here! I probably won't be around for 50/90 but would love to connect next fawm.
[avatar]
@mctown
Sweet of you to say that. I'm always impressed with your lyrics too. I kind of jog around here. This month I've also been writing with a Christian Pop artist and her producer...so I've definitely been scattered along with days and nights of doing other stuff too. Hope you are doing well.
[avatar]
@mikeb
Singing in public is a whole 'nother step from recording, where you can always go back and re-track. Lovely voice, keep using it!
[avatar]
@n24
Thanks! I'll take that title with pleasure! I'm just passing on a lot of the lovely encouragement I've been given this FAWM :)
[avatar]
Yeah I’ve been doing the lead sheets for a couple years now.

It really helps to be able to write stuff late at night but it’s also good for just trying out a ton of stuff and having a computer play it back to you or hearing stuff at a faster tempo than I can play it at first.
[avatar]
@jeff9
Bless you, Patty. Glad you enjoyed the Christmas song.
[avatar]
@mikeb
Thanks for the comment on 'What They Said'!
[avatar]
Hi. Just wondering, what's the "placeholder" technique about? A little added motivation for yourself?
[avatar]
Hi, @greengrassgirl and thanks for your encouraging and considered comments on my songs (even if the comparison you made to Sinatra shows a sign of er... derangement, lol but thank you all the same!)
[avatar]
the laundromat was on the SE corner of 42nd and University way, right next to the coffee corral and below the free university (which became a ballet studio)
[avatar]
@panch
Thanks very much for your comments Patty. I've been a bit in and out of FAWM this year but yes, hope to sign up for 50:90 and look forward to getting a collaboration or two together.
[avatar]
for commenting, @coolparadiso always has me beat, and this year, @newukenewyork and @kahlo2013 have knocked me down to 4th place, but there is a likelihood i will catch up with kahlo and tie with her for third place.
[avatar]
@ohdeer
You can see why it is REALLY hard to decide a melody is good and not derivative. You only have 12 notes to play with but....
[avatar]
i think i have about 1000 songs, half of them having been written during my 8 years of fawm. but i also have three novels, i full lenhth original play, six full length adaptations, and a dozen or so one act plays. plus a memoir, a book of poetry, one full length feature film, over 100 ethnographic short films, over five hundred film and concert reviews for seattles daily newspaper...but the accomplishment that i will boast about more than any of the others...busting out all the dry wall and fiberglass insulation from elvis prelsey's mansion in bel air.
[avatar]
@andrea
Thanks for your comments on Show Me What's Inside. Sometimes I find it hard to come up with a hook or idea. I have learned from FAWM that ideas are all around. I tried it and it worked. So yesterday I looked around as I drove, and ideas were popping all around. They won't all become something to write about, but it's pretty cool when something connects.
[avatar]
Thanks for swinging by to comment on What Do You Do To Me! No, Dave just didn't want it to count twice for him when I posted it so that he could have 14 unique songs, not 13 plus a duplicate. I suppose we could have just updated his original post with the demo, but I didn't think.
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you! Sometimes you just have a weird rhyme in your head and it HAS to be put into a song. I'm happy how John put it into music :)
[avatar]
@roxya
Oh, you went crazy on my page. Thanks for all the love. I'm trying to get to 14. Because of early FAWM procrastination I still have 5 to go. Wish me luck!
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my collab song "Back Down" with Cindyrella.
[avatar]
@jeff9
Thanks, Patty. Willie Nelson was a baby once, but I just can't picture it.
[avatar]
Reciprocal ‘no, thank YOU’ for the lovely comment on Sister :)
[avatar]
Wow - thank you so very much for your comments on “Two Bottles Of Beer” - absolutely thrilled to know you rate it so highly! One of those rare occasions when it turned out almost exactly as I’d imagined and hoped it would beforehand! Really appreciate it - thank you again! :-)
[avatar]
@n24
No problem! It's been a real pleasure to listen to your stuff so commenting is no chore!
[avatar]
@jeff9
So nice of you, Patty, to drop in on Five String Blues and make such kind remarks. Thank you, as always, for your encouragement.
[avatar]
@johns
Thanks for your kind comments. Jeff's magic turned my words into a great song.
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for your comment on "Backwards". Yes, I'm also curious about Kate's vocal approach on this one :) It will take a while until we're done. Still lacking of guitarists...
[avatar]
Thanks!
[avatar]
@n24
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your encouragement :) I've really enjoyed your songs so far and you choose your collaborators well, they really do justice to your lyrics!
[avatar]
Thanks for your lovely comments on "Out of the Blue (Came You)". I'm indebted to @alain_the_chef for providing lyrics that allowed me to do my part.
[avatar]
@andrea
Thanks for your super nice comments on The Shadow. I think I have to write superhero type lyrics every FAWM and 50/90 -lol.
[avatar]
@thetau
Thank you for droppin by my Spotify. Always need new Follows
Question: Are you mainly a Lyricist, or or also vocalist?
Russ
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind words on Peace is a Quiet River Flowing.
It was a true Collaboration. I’m singing the verse. @mdavisto is singing the repetitive chorus.
[avatar]
@andrea
Thank you for the rave review of Can't Resist. It means a lot to me that you like it so much! Michelle knocked it out of the park.
[avatar]
@doug52
Thank you so much for finding "Our Song" and the kind words.
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your comments on my song ‘Six Months Ago Today’ - you’re very kind! :-)
[avatar]
I am glad you like it.
[avatar]
@jeff9
And ditto for "Line In the Water". Hard to screw up those guys' lyrics. Just put on your cowboy hat and let it rip.
[avatar]
@jeff9
Thanks, dear friend, for the kind words about Pack Up and Leave and Wishin' Is Like Fishin'. You always warm my heart, Patty.
[avatar]
@oswlek
Thank you so much for giving "Carolina" and "Mist" a spin, Patty. You are much too kind. 🙂
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind words, @greengrassgirl - So glad that We're All Gonna meant something to you. One important lesson I learned a long time ago is there there is no right way to grieve. It's different for all of us. Allowing people to grieve in the own way is a great kindness.
[avatar]
Just sent you an email!
[avatar]
Thank you so very much for your kind and thoughtful comments on my songs ‘An Alcoholic’s Tale’ and especially ‘Hey, Dad!’. Sadly my Mum may also be heading down the same path, so I may be in the same situation as you were. I’m sorry to know you had to go through it all too - tough, tough times! Thank you again for your kindness! :-)
[avatar]
@nadine
You're welcome :)
[avatar]
@nadine

[avatar]
Thanks so much for listening and commenting so kindly on my collaboration with @andrea - really appreciate it! :-)
[avatar]
Great I really hope they can figure out the problem.
Maybe it's something to do with Dropbox but I dunno
[avatar]
thanks for your nice comment! I'm not experienced at collabs but would be open to the idea.
[avatar]
Thanks so much for listening to our songs and commenting on Something Real. Can't wait to hear more of yours brought to life this FAWM.
[avatar]
Thanks for Gushing over my first song With Salt In My Eyes - not gonna lie i was itching to get started but being so busy and locked in a hotel room in the evening for 3 weeks this month is already proving to be stifling! are you posting lyrics for collabs or do you want me to see if i have time for the ones you already sent me?
[avatar]
@jeff9
Thank you GGG! I'm lucky to snag one of Doug's to do. And in another stroke of luck, I'm about to get to work on one of yours.
[avatar]
@mikeb
Thanks for the comment on 'It Takes Two'!
[avatar]
@djtjb
Hey, nothing but the facts. I just call em' how I see em' (hear em?)! And thank you for the listen and comment on The Hunt for Ned the Stockholder. You brokered that trade like a pro!
[avatar]
Thanks for the greeting! Good luck this year!
[avatar]
You asked about a site to check out the kind of tunes I write. You can just Google, Elks in Paris a solo album I released, Picture Day, Wild Aim- which is an album of songs I wrote and had friends perform them with me. There’s also a number of my songs that have been released on the green pajamas albums as well. Thx! Look forward to connecting more.
[avatar]
Hi there is a file upload of the song now. Maybe that helps?
[avatar]
Your kindness is much appreciated!
[avatar]
Im sry to hear my track won't play for u. It works for others. Does it work if u try another device.
Thank u for ur comment. I'd like gør u to hear it
[avatar]
Hey, thanks for your comments about my song. I’d be totally open for collaboration if it feels right to you.
[avatar]
@mikeb
Your liner notes for 'If This Is Love...' are no longer there? Don't know if this is because you put in the new song link possibly?
[avatar]
Sorry, Patty. I was mixed up about your message that said a musical version of your song was now available. I wasn't sure if you were looking for something from me about that, but I see now I got confused.
[avatar]
@oswlek
I only speak the truth, Patty. It's a staggeringly good write. :)
[avatar]
Hey Patty, thanks for your kind words and listening, good to see you back :OP
[avatar]
Thanks for your message, Patty. I've been out for a few hours ushering at a concert. Did you want to email about it? I do apologize but I'll be away until Sat. night, so I wouldn't get to respond until Sunday. I would like to keep in touch. I enjoyed last year's collaborating with you.
[avatar]
@andrea
Thanks for the laugh, and also for the very kind feedback.
[avatar]
Thank you, Patty for your kind comments and support. It was a pleasure to comment on your 3-way beautiful collaboration.
[avatar]
@greengrassgirl thanks for your words on 'Where are we now', that's me singing.. Alan traditionaly writes the words, but today he did a vocal on one too - 'car crash' - see my songs :)
[avatar]
@cola

[avatar]
