All of you fellow songwriters here at FAWN have me feeling inspired again! This one just poured out of me this morning and I am pretty happy with it! I might add a short bridge and make some other changes I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for listening!

Lyrics

In the pines, the silence wanders, to a place you’ve never been.
Without effort, you feel slumber, falling fast without defense.
And you’re taken to a place, where your mind can sleep at last.
In this place your soul resets. Back to simple, back to blessed.

Natures music is in tune, as the Crickets start to croon
And the rustle of the grasses, giving rhythm to the mood
And your pulled in by a passion, where your dreams will never rest
In this place your soul resets. Back to simple, back to blessed.

Explanation is not needed, when the energy is right
When your skin breaks out in goosebumps, When chills run down your spine
You can’t drown in this energy, even if you try your best
In this place your soul resets. Back to simple, back to blessed.

When you wake up in the morning, give thanks for love and light
Every time that you’ve been rescued, every time you’ve had to fight
While another day is ending, there’s a sunset in the west
In this place your soul resets. Back to simple, back to blessed.

love this John! it's such a great feeling when a song just pours out and resonates instantly.... like magic :) I could totally hear a bridge but I agree that it's not necessary ... maybe an instrumental section would be cool to let the words sink in? this has a nice feeling, and musically fits perfect with "In this place your soul resets. Back to simple, back to blessed."

Nice write! Captures the pastoral feel of a country retreat perfectly. The refrain line works well: a bigger chorus would actually take away from the sense.

The simplicity of the arrangement is perfect for the lyric, and the vocal melody carries it well.
