Miss Interpretation

Liner Notes

Never underestimate my ability to take a bad pun more seriously than it probably deserves. I like where the lyrics went, it seems like an angle that I haven't seen in a #rock "love song".

Those high-gain guitars were killing me for this mix. I think I got it (weak snare?), but I took my eyes off some other areas in the process. Some signers have a six-octave vocal range, I have a six-semitone modulation range, and it's really coming through. A bit more aggressive sounding than I intended, but by the time I noticed it I was committed to leaving those frequencies alone. Hashtag FAWM-ready.

Lyrics

[Verse]
A late-night cry for attention.
Cryptic emoji fill my screen.
I take a cue to head on over,
As close as I'll get to certainty.

[Pre-Chorus]
You need to read between the lines,
To understand what's on her mind,
But I can't assume I've read her right!

[Chorus]
(She's my)
Miss Interpretation
A mystery with every intonation
I know the risk of letting go, all my reservations
But I'm going to put my faith in, my Miss Interpretation.

[Verse]
Twirls a lock 'round her finger.
Sets her gaze before she looks away.
Leaning back just out of touch
Laughing at every thing I say

[Pre-Chorus]
If I read between her lines,
I think I know what I might find,
but I know I can't assume I've read her right!

[Chorus]
(She's my)
Miss Interpretation
Mixing signals to hide each intention
and I know the risk of letting go, all my reservations
But I'm going to keep my faith in, my Miss Interpretation.

[Bridge]
She's comes off nonchalant with that implicit stare
But leave explicit clues, hanging in the air.

[Outro]
(She's my)
Miss Interpretation
I'm exciting by the game I know she's playing
and she's worth the risk of tossing out, all my reservations
'cause I've got complete faith in, my Miss Interpretation.

Sounds like a very original song concept to me, and very clever lyrics. The wall of guitar sound and beat feels very punk rock to me. I really like vocal change-up in the pre-chorus. Great chorus - and I like how the "she's my" hits before the beat, and the title line comes in right on the beat with that awesome vocal tone you have. It is also cool how you phrase the title line at the end of the verse. I really enjoyed your song!

Hell yeah man. Gritty punky goodness. Love the phrasing and cadence on the Miss Interpretation at the end of the chorus. And, yeah, that is a damn good bad pun lol. I dig it!
