A twist on the crying because you left me song. I kinda like this one.

Lyrics

I have nothing left to live for
Now that you are gone
I might as well open another beer
I've been searching the whole world over
For some place I belong
Now that you're no longer

You're not here to tell me what I did wrong
All throughout the day
You're not here from dusk until the dawn
To correct everything I say
You're not here to blame me for what went wrong
In your whole damn life
You're not here to be my ex-wife

On second thought, I'm doing alright
I guess I'm getting by
Now that you've left me all alone
And I dont' have to hear your voice
Or have to hear you cry
Now that I've blocked you on your phone

You're not here to tell me what I did wrong
All throughout the day
You're not here from dusk until the dawn
To correct everything I say
You're not here to blame me for what went wrong
In your whole damn life
You're not here to be my ex-wife

I admit I was missing you
For the first hour or two
But since you left, I'm living my best
Now that we are through

You're not here to tell me what I did wrong
All throughout the day
You're not here from dusk until the dawn
To correct everything I say
You're not here to blame me for what went wrong
In your whole damn life
You're not here to be my ex-wife

Yeah, nice one! Now I gotta go write some more, obviously!! 😀

The energy here is so correct. I like songs that turn a trope on its ear, especially when it comes to relationships. Your guitar and vocal are fully on the same page in terms of intensity, which makes the lyrics really pop. I dig it.

What a cool reversal of expectation! Love the presentation - vocal sounds great and the guitar is spot on. The "I admit I was missing you..." part (would that be a bridge?) is just perfect - really nice writing that cuts straight to the chase!

This was a fun twist, even after expecting one from the liner notes. Love me a happy breakup song. Vocal melody is catchy, especially with that hook “you’re not here to be my ex-wife”
