Liner Notes

The verse riff was actually in my folder from the end of Jan, but that's basically the only non February bit of this song; I just went back to it because I rather liked it and this time I was able to do something that I thought was fun. The solo is a one take wonder, and it is funny what goes through your mind when you like the first couple of bars and start to feel the pressure build not to completely muff it. Needless to say it is a bit muffed, and very repetitive, but I still like it. I decided it needed some na na nas in the background to distract from its power.

Some great grinding sounds on here and I really like the stops in the ‘on to you’ parts. Not sure if that’s a chorus or a pre-chorus as the bit after it is also hooky and you’ve provided no hints, so I’ll say pre-chorus. I read the words first, as is my habit, and I was very much looking forward to the smolo and I was a little disappointed that it was a solo not a smolo. I kinda want a song with a smolo now, like you promised. Of course, if you edit your notes, my comment will look mad, and I kind of hope you do!

Great grunge track. Love the distorted vocal. This has a great heaviness despite being a slower paced track. Puts me in mind of Alice in chains. Great Melodys and arrangement on this. Nice work

Utterly love it.
It manages to sound kinda soft, even with the heavily distorted guitar, and the lyrics have just the right amount of repetition and hook to make it instantly memorable.

I live the slight distort on the vocal! Give it that bit of grit it needs, ably supported by the guitar! This is pretty complete to my ear, one of favs of yours for sure! Great hookline.

That is a great riff. So heavy. Doom-y. That “I’m on to you “ is great counter-point to the riff. That riff. Wonderfully bleak lyrics. Love it. This track kicks. Nice pumpkin-y, butterfly-y flavorings. Kudos.
