I've used a capo on a lot of songs this month but this is the first time I've intentionally used one for the challenge. I dug out my home-made partial capo (strings 3, 4 and 5 on the fretboard.)

This is another one for Phoebe.

Lyrics

I believe in the magic
That brought together two broken souls
We are lucky to have it
Mending the broken pieces into a whole

And I can feel the magic in the air
I know that it will always be there
As long as you love me
As long as you love me

Some days I'm feeling fractured
That's when I'm needing you to hold me close
Sometimes my thoughts become scattered
That's when I need you holding me the most

And I can feel the magic in the air
I know that it will always be there
As long as you love me
As long as you love me

Know that I will love you
I'll love you true
Know that I will love you
For being you

I can feel you watching
Taking care of all the small details
I know that it's exhausting
Taken for granted all that it entails

And I can feel the magic in the air
I know that it will always be there
As long as you love me
As long as you love me

That walking bass line hooked me, and the waltzy rhythm and truth in the chorus kept me listening. This is such a sweet song (and thanks for the reminder that partial capos exist, I need one). My only note is that it needs more murder ballad. Just kidding.

Ooh partial capo, how creative! I love all your slant rhymes: magic / have it, fractured / scattered, watching / exhausting. The whole idea of two broken souls mending the broken pieces into a whole is just heart achingly beautiful. I do love me a good poignant love song!

Nice straight-up love song. The partial capo works to keep the guitar lighter and avoids the boominess that the lower strings normally have.
