A cheerful little number about the value of friendship or....

I'm not sure this song needs to exist but it's a little study of a few things or thoughts of we humans and in the voice of one of the voices I put on. Incidentally, the dark-side Matthew McConaughey vocals about 2/3 through are because I had a butterscotch disc in my mouth because I'm one hundred years old and I buy butterscotch candies now and the low takes were grumbling me into coughing. Sounds weird, but I'm not putting on a weird voice as much as trying to retain the hard candy. Matthew McCoughsupression. Anyway.... enjoy?

Lyrics

That’s not your real name, Mr. Jones
And it’s a real shame, you’re not home
I’m stopping by to take your temperature
I’m stopping by to try your furniture

I’ll come back later
I’ll come back later on
And we can see if, Mr. Jones, if you’re still gone
I’ll leave my calling card, I’ll leave a video
So you can see me standing right here outside your door

I’ll figure out
Just where your dreams take place
I’ll meet you nightly in what used to be your quiet space

We can be friends
We can be real friends
The kind that call each other after the daylight ends

Before you go to bed
Before you head upstairs
I’m living in your thoughts
I dominate your prayers

I’m moving in
To your comfort zone
I’ll take your confidence
And I’ll make it my own

I’ll take your sanity
I’ll take your time
I’m taking everything
Cuz it’s all… mine
It’s all mine

You give it to me
You give it willingly
You give me all the attention I could ever need

I’ll take your Visa,
Your Discover card
I’ll take your Amazon account and I’ll overcharge

I’m like a vampire
I’m like a honey pot
I’m like money pit
I’ll take all you’ve got

And I need it
And I breathe it
And I feed on it
And I’m so hungry

Leave me alone?
You must be joking
I laughed so hard at your request I confess, you started choking

Leave me alone?
Well that won’t do
Cuz you let me in and now your home is my home too

I’ll take your clarity
I’ll take your time
I’m taking everything
Cuz it’s all…. mine
It’s all mine

You give it to me
You give it willingly
You give me all the attention I could ever need

I never stop…
You never stop

Have you considered a second career as an actor? You so thoroughly inhabit this character, it's downright scary. But also ... exhilarating to see you approach this theme, that's in a few of your songs, from an opposite perspective. Love the momentum in the music and the butterscotch growl.

Scary! So much talent!

Woo! Yeah I love this. From the percussive strumming to the accidental Matthew McCon vox. Your lyrics are awesome. This mix just sits so nicely in my monitors. Nice job. I’m going in for another listen…

EDIT: even after a second listen this just keeps on giving. I adore those whispery low end vox where we can hear the raspy edginess. I reckon It’s All Mine is the better title. Time to pitch this to an ad campaign!

Man this chugs along like a steam train, with well-placed little pauses and lifts to kick it along. I sort of wanted it to... never stop. Insightful lyrics on a certain kind of parasitic mentality, the digital stalker who knows where you live. I saw a video of some apparently famous guy boasting about bankrupting people on the internet, and it seems like this is a whole industry now that will only grow and be applauded in the current climate. You sure captured that vibe.

Wow, you got the devil's groove going there. Its infectious and insidious, delightful, not hideous. Delicious. Yum.

Alright, alright, alright! 😂 This is awesome! Your voice and whole track sounds great! I'm really feeling the groove here. But I guess the real question is... why did you stop?
