2023 is my 12th FAWM
I write some #comedy songs, some just whatever songs (most usually have at least a "gentle #humour", some are more "serious".), sometimes a kids' song and maybe some short instrumentals, spoken word and sketches. I like writing songs about everyday things. This FAWM I would like to focus on writing more songs that I can perform live.
Some songs are recording-only songs that I couldn't possibly do live but I also try to get some "keepers" for live gigs.
I have no idea what will come out of this 50/90 and I'm looking forward to some games, skirmishes and challenges.
Most of all I just like being part of it.

she/her

AI Bio! "Wobbie Wobbit is a warm, witty female songwriter from Tottenham, North London. With a unique ability to find the extraordinary in everyday things, Wobbie's songs are a combination of comedy and human observation. From the humour in the everyday to the deeper connections we all share, Wobbie's clever wordplay and relatable lyrics have made her a favourite among audiences. As a live performer, Wobbie is a natural on stage, and in addition to performing at venues across London, she also runs Ramshackle Collective, an open mic night and creative community in Tottenham. With a sound that is truly unique and a live show that is unforgettable, Wobbie Wobbit is a true talent in the music scene and a catalyst for creative expression in her community."

Thank you for your kind comment and thoughts on 'Clean House' I'm sorry I missed responding to it sooner.
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind message on "Whoever Ordered the Communism, it's here." I write and sing songs, as well, if you'd like to dig a little deeper into the Nickerson. I'll dig into the Wobbie a bit here.
[avatar]
@pippa
Gottit. Thanks. Email's there now... (oops)
[avatar]
@pippa
Thanks for your comment on my slow air, Wobbie. And as always, please send me whatever new track you'd like me to play on KOPN community radio. I'd sure like to play the urban fox, if you have an mp3 or wav or whatever I could play. My email's on my profile. Better not a collab. unless you have the other people's consent.
[avatar]
Tanks so much for the comment, but I’m hopelessly unfamiliar with emo Thomas the Tank Engine memes. Now I’m looking that weird shit up.
[avatar]
@jeff9
Merci, dear Wobbie.
[avatar]
@beacon
You should be happy about how you contributed to FAWM. You've written a lot of song in your career, and you know you know you can do that, so now you're trying new things, and that's great. Wobbie is awesome!
[avatar]
@muz
Hey, I'm glad you sorted out that skipping problem. You can give techies a real run for their money! I've yet to begin setting up my own studio - but I'll get there. I have you to thank for getting me involved in this wonderful community. It's been fab.
[avatar]
@muz
I may have to take you up on your offer! @DreamScuba has suggested that he dust off a couple of instrumentals he has and I compose some lyrics over them. It's going to be an interesting challenge!
[avatar]
@muz
You're not the only one pleased that I have done my first song - I am too! Thanks for coaching me through it all and persuading me to do it too. You did a fantastic job!
[avatar]
Sounds cool to me. Thank you!!
[avatar]
@kiffa
Wobbie, thank you very much for your lovely comment on "Easter Sunday" (oh, and also on my "10x10" track). I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
[avatar]
Great to work on tape 5 with you, and happy you like my sons additions. He’s a bit of a filthy monkey, so no character acting was required! 😅
[avatar]
@serene
Hi! I'm in SE9... South East innit.. what's your open mic vibe like..?
[avatar]
:)
[avatar]
@wobbiewobbit and @muz - I have put together the bed track, MP3 in the link below. Do let me know if you want WAV and the separate stems. BPM: 120, Dmaj.
Different sections coloured: Intro - dark blue - D Bm | Chorus - purple - D Bm A G F#m Bm x 2 | Verse - light blue - Bm A F#m - repeats | Bridge - green - Bm A G |
The sections match the vocal sections...
Do let me know if you need me to change anything...

Hi, just one more time about the Digital 4-track challenge. I just went to check and it turns out that my export missed the 8 silent bars that were supposed to be there at the beginning. As far as I can tell from mattGPT's files, he was able to use my stem as is ( so everything was in sync) and presumably so could beacon, but if there's anything that does not seem right to you, please ask.
Sorry to come up with this so late in the game; I tried to follow the best practices but it turns out I don't understand my DAW well enough to do so effectively.

More likely than not, everything is fine. But just in case it's not…
[avatar]
Cool, thanks! Ps I love your spoken vocals on the track, I kinda want to add two bits (bass and extra vocals) so may track em live in mono.

@n24
Thanks for all your lovely comments :)
[avatar]
@treble
Thank you so much for your kind comments on Addicted to Aerobics. Aerobic exercises really are great for relieving stress after a hard day's work of songwriting. :-)
[avatar]
@muz
Ok sure. I haven't done a 3 way collaboration online before, so I had to ask! ;-).
[avatar]
@muz
Hi Wobbie. How do you want to do the collaboration? Would you prefer @DreamScuba to do the music first and then you do the vocals? Or would you prefer you did the vocals first and @DreamScuba does the music after?
[avatar]
Hey Wobbie - Muz's Green Lantern now has music... ;)

@muz
I've added you as a collaborator on Our Palestinian Flag.
[avatar]
Thanks for the feedback on ‘I Can’t Stay Long’, that’s a great idea to make the current chorus into a pre chorus, and put a punchy new chorus after. 🤘👌
[avatar]
Hey thanks for checking out my new demo, I’m way down south west nearish the junction 1 of the M3 in Shepperton.
[avatar]
@gordon
Hi Wobbie, re air squats, they are a real thing and so is the higher register of my voice, he he.
[avatar]
Thanks for checking out Glimpse, Nadine always writes such intriguing music that allows me to explore fun vocal rhythms. Glad you enjoyed!
[avatar]
You contain multitudes! Trip hop AND drum and bass!
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you Wobbie!
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind comment on our song! :) Looking forward to listening in on yours!
[avatar]
@muz
It's definitely a "big & gritty". I like that line too. And I go, "Are these enough songs? No ..." ;-). Not till I hit 14! Almost there! I'm thinking of making it bigger and grittier by turning it into a rap drama!
[avatar]
@andrea
OMG, I love your comment on Superhuman. So funny! Thanks :)
[avatar]
I just handed off to @beacon for our Digital 4-track challenge, on which you are the producer. Here's my stem and a mix:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ww1sga51x4k3d69/AAB3xmavAeGh6beDZlQXShcVa?dl=0

Included in that directory is a text file with @reinderd's original notes about the first track. As he said about his track, please also feel free to chop mine up as you see fit.
[avatar]
Thanks. Sometimes weddings or restaurant will have a flowing chocolate fountain and Sees chocolates are the best I e ever tasted.
[avatar]
Thanks for the lovely comment! Your squirmish video was fun 😀
[avatar]
@mikeb
Thanks for the listen and comment on 'What They Said'!
[avatar]
@muz
Yeah, I like the opening line too ;-).
[avatar]
@muz
Hey Wobbie, I'm writing as I want and there was no 'should' about it. It just amused me I couldn't see the fun in Green Lantern whereas it came naturally in Slave To The Rave. At least we see eye to eye on that one ;-).
[avatar]
@muz
You were asking me to inject some fun into my lyrics. Well, A Slave To The Rave is just that. I loved the cockney humour in the original and there's some of that in mine. Ezee Geezer!
[avatar]
Well alright!!!
[avatar]
Your mojo still on a go slow? Hope not. I loved Urban Fox. We need more Wobbie-isms!!!
[avatar]
@muz
Thanks for your kind words about my latest two songs. I did have a song in my for Moving Past The Rain. It's Paint It Black by the Rolling Stones!
[avatar]
@muz
Hey Wobbie, thanks for your gracious comments on my song. I really like those lines too.
[avatar]
Hi Wobbie, I'm really glad you enjoyed my song Let Go, I really appreciate you dropping by and commenting, thanks!
[avatar]
Thanks, Wobbs. Give me a little time to clear my head, I'll come check what you've been up to. I apologize.
I've already mentioned that I had no notification of your first, even though I follow both you and @gm7.
Looking forward to hearing what both of you have done.
[avatar]
Hello! I am working on my Castle Dragondreams track and wondered if I could borrow your speaking voice briefly.

The script would be as follows:
You: Uhhh, Brad?
Me: Oh, hey Wobbie Wobbit!
You: Hey, uh- ... Are they singing "Spread those cheeks, drop that dumpster truck?"
Me: Yeah.
You: Yeah, it isn't that kind of party.
Me: Oh, sorry.

If you are game, just record your bits and I can drop them in. Then shoot me an email at BradLBrubaker (at) gmail (dot) com

If not, no hard feelings! But do let me know either way. Thanks!
[avatar]
Oh, oops, I don't know why I thought that! Maybe it's because you both can do everything so my brain had to artificially come up with some kind of division of labor? Lol, I don't know, but all I know is that it's a wonderful song!
[avatar]
Hello again,
I've contacted you through the contact form on your site to tell you where my stem for the digital 4-track challenge is. Sorry I missed the part in the thread where it was recommended to exchange contact info so I'm scrambling to fix that now. It has been passed on to the next participant.

UPDATE: the second participant, mattgpt, mentioned that the click was printed on the original export, so I made a new one. It's here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9zz5vy5iu6019ea/Digital4track-part1-noclick.wav
[avatar]
Thanks Wobbie!! Made me smile :)!!
[avatar]
Wow thanks :) made me feel so good your comment on Let Go!
[avatar]
Hi, you're listed as the producer for the Digital 4-track challenge I'm working on. I'm working on my track from GMT timezone and will try to complete it tonight.
[avatar]
Thanks Wobbie, for all of your comments and checking out some of the stuff erupting in my head. If you are up for any kind of collab, co-write, 10x10 or whatever this month let me know!
[avatar]
@muz
Hi there Wobbie. Thanks for your appreciative comments. I have already thought of reading them out at Ramshackle but I'll have to convert them from songs to poems. Thats relatively easily done - just take out the Chorus!!
[avatar]
Welcome back Wobbie! Looking forward to our #4_track collab again this year!
[avatar]
@muz
Thanks wobbie for the suggestion to try to use my laptop. It worked a treat and it makes a big difference seeing the line breaks there!
[avatar]
@muz
Thanks Wobbie. I've repeated an entire line there: "I've got soul, and I'm a soldier". I'd never do this in a poem but of course in songs its done all the time as a refrain. That line by the way is a reference to a song by The Killers called All These Things That I've Done which has a line, "I got soul but I'm not a soldier". I also managed to pack in a literary reference in the end, Hardy's Far From the Madding Crowd. There I'm showing my poetic roots.
[avatar]
@brisk
Thanks for listening to Clissold Park - seems like I "got" a couple of people with that title. What other geographic locations could I try to hook people in with... Fiveways? Netherthong?
[avatar]
