I wrote this one a couple of days ago but haven't had time to get into the studio. I did a quick acoustic version but didn't like it so tried to do more with it so tried again and this is the best I can do. It would sound great with drums and a tight band to pull it off.
Still, it has something about it. I'm happy with the lyrics and how bouncy some of the melodies are.

Lyrics

Picture this:
Light flickers from your tv screen,
Made up of blue, red and green,
Past lives and invisible things
Tough times and typewriter ink,
Dark and scary silhouettes in overcoats,
Mostly human,
Part devices.

Partly human,
Mostly joyless,
A million miles away from what you’d expect.
Mostly human,
Somewhat distracted,
And just a collection of parts.

Is this really happening?
What if all the scientists are wrong? X2

The distant future,
A different universe,
An alternate reality,
With many similarities,
Two lovers try to pull their worlds apart.
Mostly human,
Partly vices.

You start to wish that you were me,
Or at least in my company,
Past lives and invisible things
Tough times and typewriter ink,
Moving shadows everywhere,
Ghostly presence, nothing there,
Past lives and invisible things
Tough times and typewriter ink.

Is this really happening?
What if all the scientists are wrong? X2

Echo the comment below that the move from "mostly human/part devices" to "mostly human/partly vices" is really clever, and I liked it quite a bit. The lyrics in general are very well done, and the performance is great.

i am hearing blur do this around the time of the great escape. love the rhythm of the guitar and the underlying bass supporting your bouncy vocals. lyrics are splendid and support my own theory that none of us knows anything.

Love the production and progression here
Your vocal delivery is so spot on for this material - I really love how it breaks for a bit and comes back in. So well done.

Really great lyrics here, and I love the jazzy vibe to this. It's great as is, but I can imagine that a more intense production will really make this pop.

"Mostly human, part devices" to "Mostly human, partly vices" is clever! The vocal harmonies are nice & I like the chord progression a lot.
