2023 - I'm Phil (He/Him)
I am #retired, with a plethora of instruments with which to create. My goal this year is to make an album of tunes that isn't over produced, just guitar and vocals, and then publish it on #Bandcamp. Alas, my band broke up recently. So, at #age70, I'm going out (#open_mics) as a solo #singer-songwriter.

Thank you so much for listening to "I Remember Dying" -- I'm glad people are liking those jazzy chords. Me too!

@mal70
EVERYTHING BURNS feedback - thanks! Reading again I can now also hear that ethereal tune. Will work on that m. Any ideas?

Wow. Great job with the music and performance on "Wasted." Thanks very much for doing that; it's great to hear the words set to music.

Hi Phil. Thanks for your kind comment on "Wasted." By all means feel free to take a hand at composing something for it. Please let me know what you come up with.

Guilty as charged. I used to play that song (...Moon) and as I was toying with a progression for my song. It seemed to keep pulling every time I thought...now where should I go? Anyway, thanks for your comments. I used a Larrivee D-09 acoustic through an Apple phone (voice memo), so it wasn't anything fancy.

Let's hear dumb ass blues!

How kind of you to leave such a generous comment on "Who Would Be Mine!"

@ltunes
Cool - I will give Inside Looking Out a try. Won't be able to record for a while as my neighbor is power washing and blowering everything into oblivion (should write a song about that). Can't wait to listen to the @timfatchen version.. after of course😀

Not one of my better efforts, sorry. But still...base and voice is down,I'll have it sorted in a couple of hours, so list me as collaborator and I'll post (teatime here, hafta stop for now.)

Glad you liked my "Heart of the Matter". Band in a Box is a gas. It's so easy to input chords. Then you choose a style. You can do this by clicking on choose a style and then entering the name of a famous song which is similar to what you might have in your head, say "Every Breath You Take" - you'll be offered first a style which sounds as close as copyright allows to that, but also a list of alternatives. You can then testy how they would sound with the chords you have entered in by clicking on the option below, or simply hear how their demo song sounds.

After that you just have to learn how to define the sections of the song and you are away. Once you get used to it, it is incredibly quick to get a backing track to your new song... a mater of minutes rather than hours, like a DAW might insist you spend.

On top of that, the Real Plater styles recorded with real musicians incredibly useful and sound professional compared with some of the MIDI styles.

Hi Phil. Thanks for you kind comments on "I Thought I Had a Plan." Yeah, that was one of those when my co-writer and I had a bit of grumbling first and then (thankfully) recognized that we actually do like our lives.

@ayais
Thanks, Phylo. A baritone tele! Never heard of it. Must be super.

Thanks for the comment on Emily Could Sing The Blues, Phil! I'm imagining there's no place to hide on those big studio monitors 😬 hope it was ok!

You are an extremely kind man, Phil! 😄
Thank you.
