I'm a vocal coach by trade, a bit out of the box as I don't teach anything remotely classical like most educated teachers do. I like those raspy sounding singers that have power but don't sound "pretty."

I write in a variety of genres from Metal to Funk to Jazz, as I love a lot of styles and love to sing lots of styles. Lyrics and melody are my strong suits, but I can come up with some cool stuff on a DAW if need be. I dabble in keys but mainly am a bass player.

My favorite music to listen to is 80 Metal/Hard Rock, 70/80's Funk, 30s/40s Jazz, 60s and 90s Country. Haven't gotten into anything modern. Seems over processed/compressed, not enough dynamics or natural instruments, and drums are too "on the beat.".

Social media is a mystery to me, and a bit creepy, so no clue how to use hashtags. I'm old school and use emails, text and have a regular old website with a contact page. HA! Well...I do use YouTube, so I'm not totally in the dark ages.

Thanks very much for the kind words and event invite! I'll do my best to join in.

@nadine
Thank you! I hope your session has been great. I'll check out your mailing list, but I may use a different mailbox cause there's too much going on with collabs and requests xD

You're welcome! Thanks for your invitation but unfortunately I'm involved in another Zoom call at the same time. Not sure if I can move, cause the time zones are heavy. Otherwise I would have joined immediately - such a cool topic. Will you record the event?

I'm so glad you joined. I loved hearing all the different genres you wrote it. It reminds me of when you played those different voices in a singing class. Those can't all be you, can they? But I know they are. Your voice is a choice. And your songs are choice...Wordplay aside, they are really great.

Interesting way to write - I usually start with the lyric and then set it to music. But let’s try that! It may have to be a live piano recording and I’ll try and do something tonight. I may create a guide vocal melody or ‘placeholder’ syllables. Actually come to think of it there’s already at least one of my tracks posted that’s like that - so you want to have a listen and see if they inspire you?

Funk- bass guitar girl ( and sketchy lyric ) abd even more sketchy track
Souly- .. the piano ones

I can put the backing track onto a proper Daw or use bandlab/ Soundtrap to ease sharing and note you are a singer so will give it key all production wise

Hey! I came across her YouTube channel some months ago and followed because of her uniqueness. Damn, her screaming voice is such a beast, she could rip you off with a smile! Fun how small the world is....

Oh, man, I'm so glad you're here. And these songs are so great.....Hooray.

Awesome - are we doing random collab? Which are you doing words or music ?
[avatar]
I will send you some words.

I don’t mind doing lyrics if you want to do the music?
