Waves of the Unknown

Liner Notes

Track number 2 already!

As I had Reaper open and had been playing with lots of Roland Cloud instruments, this track formed right after I finished the other one, with a break for some lunch in the middle!

I've switched classic synths this time, but like last time this is mainly a mix of synth, loops from Native Instruments, plus a couple of other bits.

No big story behind this one, other than I really love that fat synth sound, so couldn't resist building something from that. After 2 synth tracks, I've got to get my orchestra hat on and maybe the next track will be a bit different, we'll see.

Used to make this track:
Reaper DAW
Roland Cloud Juno 106
Roland Cloud Jupiter 8
Heavyocity Foundations Choir
Couple of NI loops
Ozone 10 for mixing

Very cinematic / score feel to this. The sounds blend together very well and it was an interesting listen that the Random Song function threw up.

hey this sounds cool. Great idea to run with the classic synths. They have a lot of versatility and such really cool sounds.

some really cool synth sounds in this, particularly like that big swallowing rising synth that comes in around the 50 second mark and gets more and more distorted and glitched. All those extra percussive elements that come in toward the end are great too

Ominous, and very cinematic. Those synths really create an atmosphere. Once again, excellent choices with the synth voices here. Lots going on. I had to listen again to make sure.

Got the 'Knight Rider' instrument going it seems. Haha. This is a cool song with lots of neat presets. Roland definitely has a unique sound! It's still in my mind... Great work!

This is gorgeous. The synth bass is so rich. Literally closing my eyes and feel like I'm drifting away. Those sawtooth stabs are epic af!

very gripping. cyberpunk at times, way-future at other times. cool. hints of dub-step (for me).

Absolutely love the atmosphere this one presents. The build up towards the end into the choppy drums was my favorite part :'D

Loving that chonky Roland bass. Getting images of marching hordes of something science-fictiony listening to this. Big-budget cinematic, too; as opposed to 1970s era Doctor Who. Great fun!

I am *so* glad to have my Juno-60 and 106 back to match fitness this month. Sound chips had gone on both of 'em and the 60 needed both CPUs replacing too. Not cheap, but totally worth it. This has inspired me to fire 'em up and have a play...

Enjoyed this. Love the main fat synth sound. Also liked the percussion that added a sense of urgency to the piece.
