Skirmish: What would you do with a ... (@robinleaf)

Liner Notes

Thank you so much @robinleaf for your brilliant prompt. I can see so many songs were created to it. I'm looking forward to hearing them. Regarding the time, I couldn't do it when the prompt was announced as I needed to do some shopping. Came back and spent an honour, so it's still skirmish is though posting it probably as a last one :) Thank you to everyone who is listening and commenting. My music is open to suggestions. My take: if I had a time machine, I would try to change what happened, make possible to return the ones I love with all my heart but who is no longer here... Music says it that only our dreams it is possible, so there is sadness and nostalgic feeling. I'm interested in finding out what you hear in my music. Please let me know if you are interested in collaborating with me.

This is so lovely, Nadia. Haunting, but not in a frightening way. I think the dead are still with us, so what I hear in your music is their regret--the mistakes they made and the way it shaped the world, and their longing for something different to happen soon, for a spell to be broken. Maybe for an old wound to heal, perfectly knit, from the bottom up, and for those left by their loved ones to experience a life like that. That's what I was thinking while I listened. Thank you so much for your beautiful music.

I could honestly listen to you play like this for hours 🙂 I think it's because the piece is constantly evolving, and in a very organic way too. And then each little section seems to have its own, subtly different meaning, yet it all comes together into this portrait of sadness and longing. Wonderfully done.

Oh Nadia this is beautiful. I adore your inventiveness with the harmony in this, in fact it has a sort of signature sound that i adore whilst always being so unqiue . And i utterly adore your piano playing. Thank you Nadia.

Gorgeous. I could even imagine setting vocals over this in a Regina Spektor-esque way. But it’s hard to imagine lyrics that would evoke more emotion than what you played. So well done.

Hauntingly beautiful! I could even see a ballet choreographed to this. I also am getting a steampunk / Victorian vibe.

Really love the melody and movement of the piece, i'm transported

ooh i really love the chromaticism in the melody starting around the 1min mark! would be right at home in a musical if it were put to lyrics tbh 😄

This flows so beautifully with a melancholy emotive feel that touches my heart and transports my thoughts. Well done!

This is gorgeous, Nadia! I love the sense of nostalgic longing that you've incorporated into the pics, especially those half step intervals in that repeating part (which in think of as the chorus lol). Thanks so much for doing my skirmish!

Nicely done! The sadness and melancholy and nostalgia all come thru.

What a beautiful instrumental piece. I hear so much emotion. I love the half step intervals that are always eluded to in the different sections. Very visual, dreamy with an unsettling feeling. Would love to collab, yes!
