Well, first #skirmish and the timing reflexes aren't back yet. A quick and dirty concept for an #Epic (anti) Hero in #mythology. His uncle was in Zeus' class at the Acropolis, so you know he's highly intelligent.

VERSE 1:
The epic hero does what others won’t attempt
With superhuman intellect and strength
The Evil forces can’t be hidden from his gaze
So trust him to keep them at arms-length!

There’s room for only one hero no one is even close
Because the smartest person in the room is me
My uncle was a professor in Zeus’s class
And I inherit his ability

Thanks for all the kind comments! ELP is one of my favorite bands. I debated whether to go with a synth or guitar for the embellishments, and my guitar skills aren't quite "one take as the skirmish clock ticks". Listening again, the point of view shifts over the course of the song. I might build on @atornberg's suggestion for "songwriter as hero" because I've written far too many political protests recently. @markg has it right about a superhero in his own mind!

WOW, this is really excellent! I love the steady pacing and the synth is superb! I immediately thought of Lucky Man by ELP! I love the lyrics and the hope of a hero...me! Some real truth in there! Great work here!!!

Came for another listen, and it sounds so fascinating. I love your song. It's so expressive, and the instrumentation, and the layers, the atmosphere, and the meaning.. Truly fascinating song. So visual. This is my favourite song of yours.

Love those drums and that guitar tone is great. That synth line is perfect. I like your vocal melody, too. Lyrically, what a great take, Idda never of thunk it.

Songwriter as hero! Great idea! There aren't enough mythological heroes that use their brains over brawn.

Well you might feel a tad rusty but there's some splendid imagination at work here and it all made for a highly enjoyable listen! Especially like the 70s style keyboard riffs 😊
