The Privilege of Waiting
Liner Notes
A reflection on growing older and changing, sometimes not as soon or fast as you want. Written as part of the proud #fuc and #worldukuleleday with my banjolele and Kala u-bass!
Lyrics
From day to day it’s hard to see changes
there is so much that’s bound up in the past
after a lifetime of caution and waiting
all that I want is for this to move fast
Two years ago I was still male-presenting
One year ago I was in a new dress
Today I’m in jeans and a comfortable sweatshirt
that kind of progress I never would guess
Look in the mirror and I can still see him
less though today than from 1 month before
I’m changing slowly but I am still changing
that’s not to say I’m not eager for more
We all deserve to grow old in a body
matching the way we desire to be
I wish it was sooner but I am still grateful
I have the privilege to wait and see

The banjolele picking and strumming are wonderful along with your voice too.
I used my Guitalele and U-Bass on my last song Let's Chase the Sun. Those are loads of Fun to play.
