This one came together quite quickly. Wrote the lyrics on a scrap piece of paper while at work today. Got home, fired up Jeskola Buzz & hit record. This is the result: nothing fancy - just my Strat & vox. Oh, & a wee bit o'angst…

See You In The Shadows…

Lyrics

My Rage
======

Two times you've changed your mind, now
It's fine if you leave me behind, now
All my rage is steeled away
In the end I said it was okay

Serpentine directions might bring me round, now
Vicarious expectations shake the ground, now
All my rage can't change a thing
My hope is all I have to bring

Scream, I would scream if I could
Instead I dream, yes I dream of what I should
But I can't do this alone
No, I can't do this alone…

Uncooth desires will hide my fire, now
I suffer the ire from those who conspire, now
All my rage is impotent
Against the power of the incompetent
All my rage can't change a thing
My hope is all I have to bring
All my rage is steeled away
All my rage is steeled away…

======

p.s.: This might be a slight nod to a song which could have been the anthem of my generation (not that one by The Who, I'm not that old…). But, who really has ever seen a bullet that has butterfly wings? I ask you that, Mr. Corgan 😆

Really full of some intensity and flows along, the guitar melody has the pent up rage sensation in the sound as well.

Contained rage and spreading determination? From what I hear, the song could be titled "My Hope".
Very nice guitar, and your vocals definitely speak the language of the heart. Clever lyrics, with a powerful message and adept lines. We talked about strength not long ago. I can feel this is a sub-theme in this song, and I like it.

Ah, that good ol Gen X angst.
There's certainly enough to go around.
Nice, I'm liking just you and your guitar.
There's a lot of power here, even tho it's pretty stripped down.
I'm liking that little single-note figure you're playing there.
Great job, as usual.

Candle angst! Its perfect! These lyrics cut deep and the solo guitar makes it feel even closer. "All my rage is impotent/ Against the power of the incompetent" is such a killer line. The guitar riffs are so full and punchy, they fit the angst of the lyrics really well. Awesome song!

There’s something poetic about songs like this being accompanied solely by loud distorted guitar. It makes the song feel simultaneously private and conspicuous. Like you can hear the people that aren’t in the room and it makes the lyrics sting more.

Love it

What’s not to love here? Not sure what you’re referring to but I had to play “Talking About My Generation” by The Who, although I was also a bit young (probably not as young as you).
