So my first ever collab with Mr Cooperider senior, and am overjoyed to now have all three coops collabed with!
I am on a bit of a mission as i will have to depart FAWM on Frb 18th to do a retreat, so am busy catching up on collabs as well as trying to get as many of mine done as poss, but i saw these lyrics from Jim and they just hit me so hard. Such a gentle but powerful direct way to express a topic very dear to me heart. So massive big ups Mr Coops for letting me do this.

Musically it may sound quite dark at the start but i always knew i was going to get to a change of key to feel the beauty that is there from our multicultural world we live in.

Excuse the slight dodgy vocals here and there as still recovering from bloody flu.

More massive thanks to Mr coops for filling my soul tonight xxxxx

Lyrics

They came from
countries far and wide
Putting their customs
all aside
Their bravery was
deep as the sea (i know)

They came from
countries far and wide
Putting their customs
all aside
Sometimes from tyrants
they did flee (i know)

chorus
So honor those
who built this land
They all deserve
a great big hand

They came leaving
all behind
and did the work
that was a grind
They put their shoulder
to the load

They came leaving
all behind
and did the work
that was a grind
and seeds of freedom
they all sowed ( i know)

Chorus
So honor those
who built this land
They all deserve
a great big hand

Chorus
So honor those
who built this land
They all deserve
a great big hand

Oh my, this is a superb match! The lyrics are so timely and meaningful and the music is a wonderful mix of cultures and regions. Wow this is really something fantastic. Oh lord those huge harmonies are unreal and I’m always stunned at your vision. I’d have to map this one out, even though it makes perfect sense. Great great collaboration!

My doggoned speakers are stuck in disable so I can't listen yet. Looking forward to doing that when I get this fixed .

What’s better than an EGOT? The Cooperider triple of course!! Well done on your achievement Karl 😁 And well done on this cool collab. Love the treatment. The words are (obviously I hope) very important and you sound wonderful with that big, all encompassing Karlsberg sound, works perfectly to set the tone!

Wow, this is really amazing from the lyrics to the music. Just everything I really would like to know which instruments you used one sounds like a hammered dulcimer

BTW, I love the tin whistle and tried to learn it, but when I practiced my son said, "please don't!"

Musically conveys the theme completely. The instrumentation ( tin whistle?) So reminiscent of Irish, Scottish, Celtic songs. The rich harmonies in the chorus " big hand" so exquisite! Lyrics are strong and the sentiment to honor immigrants is really needed today.

Stunning collab! Karl's music gives Sr. Coop's words the gravitas they deserve.
