The Wolf Who Cried Boy
by @edwinb
Liner Notes
Idea taken from an SMBC comic (this one: https://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/wolf-2). There may be a moral to this #silly #ukulele song but if so, I don't know what it is.
Just me and my tenor ukulele, straight to laptop. #fuc
Lyrics
[F][Bb][F][C]
[F][Bb][F][C][C7]
The [F]wolf went to the [Bb]clearing [F]Every single [C]day
To [F]howl to the [Bb]others That a [F]boy was on his [C]way
The [Bb]other wolves would [F]hear him, they [Bb]came from west and [F]east
They'd [Dm]run towards the [F]clearing
[Bb]Waiting for the [C]feast
But [Dm]no boy ever [F]came
They [Dm]fell [Bb]for his [C]game
[Bb]Played with like a [F]toy
By the [Bb]wolf who [C7]cried [F]boy
But the [F]wolf went to the [Bb]clearing, he'd [F]keep on going [C]back
And [F]they'd listen to his [Bb]howling, maybe [F]this time, there's a [C]snack
The [Bb]other wolves grew [F]weary, the [Bb]joke was getting [F]cheap
Went [Dm]back to bed like [F]grandma and
[Bb]Dressing up like [C]sheep
When [Dm]no boy ever [F]came
They'd [Dm]fallen [Bb]for his [C]game
[Bb]Played with like a [F]toy
By the [Bb]wolf who [C7]cried [F]boy
[F][Bb][F][C]
[F][Bb][F][C][C7]
[Dm]No boy ever [F]came
They [Dm]tired [Bb]of his [C]game
[Bb]Played with like a [F]toy
By the [Bb]wolf who [C7]cried [F]boy
Then [F]one day in the [Bb]clearing when the [F]daily cry was [C]made
[F]Emerging from the [Bb]trees was a [F]boy, lost, and a[C]fraid
Though the [Bb]others heard the [F]cry they [Bb]shrugged and stayed at [F]home
And with [Dm]no wolf there to [F]help
He [Bb]ate the boy on his [C]own
[Dm]When the boy [F]came
He'd [Dm]played the [Bb]long [C]game
There was [Bb]more to en[F]joy
For the [Bb]wolf who [C7]cried [F]boy

Regardless, it's a good example of a song that tosses a cliché on its head.
