There's a little wrinkle in Reaper that can convert any analogue input signal to MIDI. So using a flute to drive a VSTi synth is possible, as long as it's played slowly.
Also, I'm in the studio trying to process some (good) news I've received from my oncology team, so playing slowly with loads of reverb and a synth pad seemed like the right thing to do at the moment.
The image is from earlier in the year when I found myself in a hospital bed.

I had no idea reaper could have that analogue to midi routing. Really cool idea. It sounds really good too. Great atmosphere to it. Love it!

So atmospheric. Almost feels like a night in a magical fairyland where everything is really beautiful, but also you don't quite know what to expect, so there is a bit of unease.
