Hi. Nice to see/hear you here. My Sixteenth FAWM! Good to be back.

Once upon a time, I drove all around the US to play my music at all the coffeehouses, to eat at all the diners, to see all the things and to sleep on lots of couches... but that was a long time ago. ;)

I occasionally post song videos on IG: https://www.instagram.com/funktifiedfolk/

Thanks for the comments on We're All Gonna, @danvaillancourt
I've had some fun mixing those upbeat sounds with darker lyrics, this FAWM. Sometime full-on dark is great, but it can get a bit heavy.
[avatar]
thanks for the listen and comment on Artichoke Darling, it was so fun to do a last minute collab and your input is much appreciated!!
[avatar]
You rock, Dan! I'll be checking out more tonight. We were gone for most of March.

My surf song those year was my first song and I think it was called Creeping In.
[avatar]
Thank you for the pomegranate dream comments :-) Believe it or not I didn't realize that the Bible doesn't mention an apple until I was writing the song. I wanted to get some supporting details from the Bible to incorporate, and I was shocked only "fruit" was mentioned! I immediately phoned my best friend, who (of course) had known that since childhood LOL. I went with the apple anyway since most of it had been jotted down and I liked the concept :-)

Thank you, Dan, for listening to and giving such thoughtful comments on Happy Clappy Song. Very much appreciated.

Hey Dan, I'm so glad you enjoyed my #yamahacore song! It is absolutely heartfelt and earnest in a way that I didn't expect and a real tribute to a piece of hardware I've had around for a long time on and off. It's great to hear that translated!
I loved reading your description of your childhood with synthesizers and a 4 track. I came into recording later but that sounds like a blast!

@jeff9
Thanks, Dan. Glad you got a kick out of All My Rowdy Friends. David and Vaughan can write an instant classic country lyric at the drop of a hat!
[avatar]
Hey dan thank you so much for your comments on I miss you my collaboration with doug haberman. @crisp1
This was certainly one of those magic moments!
[avatar]
Thanks for your commentary on my instrumental There is a Coder. I appreciate your listen.

@jeff9
Thanks so much for the nice comment about Low Rung on a Tall Ladder, Dan. It's quite a pleasure getting to work on Patty's stuff. The music just flows.

@brisk
Thanks for the nice comment on Old Dog Yet? - I am particularly enjoying the comments I receive at this stage - it feels nice, like an aftershow. I notice I haven't commented on a single one of yours, which is poor. If you are part of tit4tat then I will get to you eventually - and if you aren't, then I'll try to remember you when I've flogged my way through that!

Thanks again for taking time to listen and comment on another of my tracks. I appreciate your kind and thoughtful observations on Cycling Proficiency Centre!

@nadine
Thank you, Dan! Yes, taking a little break from FAWM can be great. I thought you were already gone so thanks for your comments and offer!

Haha your joke reminds me of a little kid who wanted to drink blood cause he was not able to pronounce the r in blood orange xD I never forget the face of the waitress!

Oh yes the band did such a great job on "Magnetic Rose", that I had to rock out and produce it final!

Please send me a mail concerning Stir Fry, cause I don't find yours on the profile. I haven't rerecorded the vocals yet. Do you have guitar pro?

@n24
Thank you for your lovely comment on Mouse Ballet! @davidtaro nailed it with the tiny mouse voices, just loved it!
[avatar]
Dan, thanks for your kind comments on Buckle Up For Safety. Glad you enjoyed it.
[avatar]
Dan, I'm glad you stuck around after FAWM officially ended, and took the time to comment on How It Was. I'm glad Marthie's treatment of the lyric resonated with you. I thought she did a beautiful job. Thank you for commenting!

@mikeb
Thanks for the comment on my collab with Tammy, 'Defy Gravity'!
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for listening, Dan! Ouch I still have some songs to catch up!

By the way, would you be interested in helping me with some rockabilly? "No time for blues" would be a no brainer for you. I have no idea where to start with rhythm guitars and I cannot get this semi clean crunchy sounds with my acoustic. No biggie if you're busy or don't collab at all.
[avatar]
PS: did you get out the guitarlele?
[avatar]
Thanks on your comments, buddy! I consider klick this year my favorite song. Forgive me that I didn't listen to one of your tracks until now ๐Ÿ˜• but I'm ill now zhe second time during fawm and life's kicking hard these times ๐Ÿ˜ถ.

Dan, So glad you liked the "musical theater style" delivery of Never Fall In Love With A Musician." It was so much fun to hear Caitlin's rendition of the lyric and I love how she and John made it into a song. Thank you for listening and commenting. I know that takes time.
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind comments on my tracks. Glad you liked Wear Bright Gear, i thinks it the most complete track I made this FAWM.

LoopyPro is iPad only, super deep and very fun. The cool thing about it is that you can custom design your own work surfaces. I only use a fraction of the features and still get a lot from it.

This YouTuber is doing a very good video manual and will help you decide if itโ€™s the app for you. https://youtu.be/Gv0VA98pfBY

I highly recommend it and how this information is helpful.

Hey, thanks for listening to Quando Sento il Mandolino. Looking forward to hearing your music, good back story above!
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my collab song "Back Down" with Cindyrella.
[avatar]
Hey Dan, thanks for the nice comments on my songs. The organ on Sweet and Sour is just a preset drawbar organ sound from my Casio WK 7500.
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for your comments! Dan, I really begin to flush! It's still a long way to go with my guitar. Bar chords suck and I have muting issues on certain chords, but you may hear that a couple of times every week xD

@kkd
Wow, 16 Famws. That's amazing. Thank you for your thoughtful comments on "Everybody Needs" and "I Can't Write a Song." I'm glad you picked up on the gospel feel as that was what I was aiming for.. That's what I was going for. I hadn't thought of the other one as being on stage but I see what you are saying. It does have that vibe to it. This is such a great place to experiment with things!

@nadine
Thanks for your comments Dan! Yes, most songs start as a MIDI draft, cause my instrumental skills are quite limited. Over the years, I learned how to write chord sheets, tabs, playing techniques etc so I can explain my vision of a song. I hope we find a team for "Backwards" cause it already sounds like a big song. Sure I will hit you up when we go the next step, but it depends on Kates wellbeing if it will happen during FAWM.
"Pay it forward " will he rerecorded after FAWM and I also feel like this is going to be a big one! Nadias piano inspires me for a power ballad re arrangement and I am super happy for Caitlins additions.
Guess you will hear from this songs on my social media someday soon!
[avatar]
Thank you sir, any time I get to work with Nadine I know it's going to be a banger, appreciate the feedback!
[avatar]
Thanks so much for listening to โ€œYou Give Good Text!โ€ I appreciate it.
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you, Dan! Yes I'm having a lot of fun with @chrismyth02 , guess it won't be our last collab.
[avatar]
Yep, โ€˜Take 252โ€™ would probably have been more accurate!
[avatar]
Here we go rocking out with a friend. Wondering why we don't do it again and again. Hoping we can get it right in the music box tonight...
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for your comment! I'm happy you enjoyed my little rant. I had to use a harpsichord, because I hate it. Same as I hate baroque music and many more things in between the lines ;-)
[avatar]
@cts
Hey bud - how goes it? Happy FAWMing and good times a-plenty! Let's get it!
[avatar]
@audrey

[avatar]
Pumped. Kick major butt this year, Dan!
[avatar]
Where does the year go? Anyway, the main thing is weโ€™re back, and I canโ€™t wait to stuff more Vaillancourt musical goodness in my ears! Have a good oneโ€ฆ
[avatar]
And it appears that the big FAWM migration to a new site killed some connections! I have re-established mine to you. :)
[avatar]
A big hello to you from across the state!! I am really looking forward to hearing your FAWM!!
[avatar]
Good to see you too! I remember when you drove around to Albuquerque to play at Winningsโ€”maybe one of these days Iโ€™ll end up in your neck of the woods!
[avatar]
@max
FAWMseason greetings. Enjoy your 16th!
[avatar]
So great to have you back again this year! Have a fantastic FAWM!
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you! I fear all these projects may take the full year ๐Ÿ˜‚ But I decided to have some fun here cause mixing can be super exhausting!
Good luck on your FAWM!
