One O'Clock In The Morning
by @edwinb
Liner Notes
I had a long train journey today back from a filk con. I should probably have been catching up on work, but my brain was in the wrong place so I wrote some lyrics instead. This is only slightly autobiographical, because I like my job, and if I'm up that late, it's probably decaf not a dram :). I'm still likely to be being distracted by doomscrolling or another chapter though.
Anyway. I suppose it's a #ukulele #folk song about the daily grind. Live from the sofa, where I might (but probably shouldn't) still be at 1am. #fuc
(Self criticism: I don't like that "morning" is used in two different ways. Meh. I'll find a way to fix it later.
Update: I've found a possible way to fix it now but I'm not redoing the demo :). I'll just tweak the lyrics...)

What do you think about, in the bridge, making a full hour past. Then the next verse starts ' two o'clock in the morning'...
I had to listen to this one because one of the first songs I ever wrote in Spanish is called “Es la una de la madrugada” - I reckon you can guess how that translates. :)
