In search of a theme
Liner Notes
In search of a theme? Indeed it is. This rather overbearing piano shuffle, improvisation no.2 of today, uses common New Age chord progressions, a trap I easily fall into (blame Mike Oldfield) on an assumption that something is going to happen over the harmony and progression but alas, nothing did. You may hum at it, if you like. I put everything up including failures, which this is approaching. Still, I may have something to do with or to it later on. #improvisation #neoclassical #piano #onetake #instrumental

Very cool bouncy shuffle happy feel good groove that brings a smile to my face. All feels right in the world when I hear your magical touch on the keys. I really like those sections when your R hand dances up a few octaves.

If I'd heard this without being told that this was you, I think I'd still have recognised that it was you playing. You have a distinctive style of your own, and I can hear your sense of humour in this as much as I can the influence of others like Mr Oldfield.

this reminds me of a stock scene in movies about piano players, in which a pianist lands a job in a barrelhouse or some place like one and proceeds to play something he feels is apropos of the environment, but his playing has an elegance that he cannot disguise, and the owner tells him that his patrons are not here to listen to classical music and the pianist takes another stab at playing something vulgar and common, but cannot pull it off, so he throws up his hands in dismay and walks out.
