Liner Notes

I was reading Barry Baldwin's column in the Fortean Times about bibliomancy: the practice of divination by means of opening books at random and picking a sentence. I was very taken with the idea; I've certainly got enough books to make things entertaining.

In the spirit of the idea, I picked some synths, guitars, patches, and presets at random and tried to make something vaguely musical with them. This was the result. Is it #prog? Or perhaps #ambient? Or just me #mucking-about? Who knows...

Weirdly, the evening after I posted this one, I sat down to read the latest edition of Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, which I'd bought earlier in the week. And when I opened it up, this was the first thing I read. Spooky!

Very cool word. I love the expansive sound of this track. It's a good blend of an unhurried atmosphere and calm rhythmic movement. Thank you for the inspiration!

Great title, has a nice lofty feel in here as the air surrounds you and carries away.

Sounds awesome and atmospheric in my headphones. I love the whole production, and the bass line that anchors it kept luring me in. Amazing!

Clicked because "bibliomancy" is a pretty cool word. Loved the choral synth sounds at the beginning and the guitar lines - especially the riffs around the 5 minute mark. Don't know much about genres but I agree that this creates a massive and very cool space.

I like this idea.

I love that idea. And bilbliomancy sounds quite legit, or at least as legit as the more formal religions. Really enjoyed this! Ans, prog is not a dirty word. Keep up the good work Chris!

Ambient prog? I think that's what I'm getting out of this. Sounds awesome though. I love how massive the space you created is.
