Wrote and recorded this in about forty minutes while on my walk in the woods.

I sort of imagined this as #scifi with a transporter, but it’s far too real right now for me too.

Just a bit more info on that now that I'm home and can type: The concept was of a woman standing at the window of a space station, trying to decide if she would, this time, press send on the transporter beam and send herself out there, far away - likely never to return.

I'm in the same situation right now, facing the choice between the dissolution of my very self or taking that step and finding a new future, far away.

I’ll put this onto sheet music and write harmony/accompaniment another time, after FAWM. Then I’ll be consistent with the melody :)

Pretty melody - it's fun to hear you singing in the woods. Interesting angle with the sci-fi aspect, I enjoyed the story in your lyric.

@metalfoot pretty sure it’s on your end. It does have about five seconds of white space at the start since I was recording on my phone. Perhaps others can confirm that there’s audio; the interface is telling me 2 1/2 minutes of recording length.
Thank you for the comments though! I’m glad you liked the lyrical construction. It all started with a chorus for me.

I love the juxtaposition of longing for space travel and a more immediate conflict, and the ending that reveals the way that the two are not really separate from each other. Very poetically put.
