- Salem MA US
My fourth year. Getting a late start this year due to a bad case of the flu. I'll try to catch up as best I can.
I'm a semi-professional actor and musician, with a B.A. in Music, and an M.A. in Theatre Education. I sing, play keyboard, and was a viola major in college. And this is my third go-round with FAWM, although this year, I was out of the country on vacation until the 13th, and it was slow getting started.
My love for music is all over the map. I have composed for pop, rock, jazz, musical theatre, and even classical. I just have not done it very often. Until this past year or so with the pandemic shrouding most of us.
I have written a lot of songs since joining the FAWM group. I keep writing after the month, although not as prolifically. Some of my songs have reminded others of Stephen Sondheim. I've also written a few rockers. I like to write in the jazz vein, and even more old-school swing songs that work particularly well on the ukulele. A while back, I wrote a sardonic Christmas song in the New Orleans swing-blues style, sort of an homage to Dr. John. And last year, I wrote an instrumental that was an homage to Tower of Power (I mean, who thinks to write a funk song for the ukulele??).
Anyway, I'm just getting started this February of 2025. Right from the start of the month, I was hit with a bad case of the flu (not COVID), and it wiped me out flat. I'm going to be busy until at least Sunday, the 16th. I'll try to make up for lost time as much as I can.

Thanks for listening so quickly. Yes I have been in a changed that spelling - thankyou. Also noticed that I sang "garlic" when I meant "garland". FAWM is hard!
