Liner Notes

First track for FAWM 2025, wooo!

There is a bit of a story to this one. Over the last few months my competing hobbies have been vying for time in my life, in particular I have given in to my wife who has wanted to learn to dance for ages and I've been avoiding it....but since about October last year, we've been going to ballroom dancing lessons. So combining hobbies, today I decided to try and create a song we could dance along to!

The production is mainly using virtual instruments from Roland Cloud, they do many faithful recreations of vintage synths, so I've been trying all of them, but in this track it is the JX-3P along with a bit of Zenology (Roland's sound engine) and a couple of loops out of Native Instruments Komplete.

Such an AWESOME kick; great mix on that!
Love the squarey synths coming in; sucker for THAT sound. Also love the 80s-leaning melody on them.

Nice ending there - that was really a nice groove to end it; you could've given me a couple more minutes of that groove and I'd have loved it lol

VERY danceable! Your missus has done you a favour, dragging you out by the ears to those dance classes. I love the energy in this one! Great choice of instrument voices really push this. And that percussion is insane! 😆

It almost feels like you could Salsa to this. There's something in the undercurrent of the track. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's Salsa ready. Did you intend for it to Salsa? Not only is it a banger for the ballroom (song title idea lol) but would be cool as a remix idea for Gloria Estefan's "Conga" track. Your song is a swiss army knife! I dug it. x2 plays for me! I had to hear it again.

I just love the fact that you take your wife dancing. That is all kinds of cool. Now about this track - I love the sound choices and it moves along with such a rather irresistible energy. This is dance-able music happening here. Well done. Sorry to read you will be missing the latter half of FAWM, but holiday with the missus sounds to me like more than enough compensation. Enjoy to the fullest!
