I had the lyrics for the first couple of verses of this started a couple of months ago, but hadn't come back to them since. I don't know if this counts as #finished but it feels like a decent start, at least.

You sound wonderful! I love it all but ESPESH the shadow line as I really enjoy taking photos of shadows next to each other and the joy rebellion line. Excellentttt work ❤️

Yes! This is beautiful. I love the simple structure with the changing frame, and the lovely images for what each represents. (I feel like I have a song that's trying to do a similar thing, from a long-ago FAWM. I'm sure I didn't do it as sensitively.) I especially love "the beautiful ember we're guarding" (and also "refusing to let our hearts harden")

I finished reading these lyrics before I listened to it, and THIS, THIS THIS THIS! This is what every church service I ever went to was missing. The folk treatment, the soft, intimate vocals. Your music holds space as well as your words.
I want this in my self-collected hymnbook.

ADORE these lyrics. "Refusing to let our hearts harden" and "radical act of rebellion" - I love how you've captured a fierceness, backed up by such a gentle delivery. This is what music is for. Gorgeous.

The simple structure is very satisfying. You're exploring a lot with these three stanzas. Lovely melody and picking, as well. I especially like the line "Hope is the fierceness where we make our home." Very nice.
