Hi Elaine, I hope you have a fun FAWM!

Happy fawming, Elaine! Miss you on this coast!

Re: Rhiannon, I know right?! She is truly like nobody else. Glad that song connected with you too :)

Hey, thanks for listening to Ravyn Lenae, and for your thoughtful comments. I've followed you, and look forward to hearing what you come up with. I'm always up for a collaboration, if that's your thing.

Clean Money gets me fired up! Glad you liked it!

Glad you like the Bôa track! This was Hoopshank's old band -- he played keys and wrote the string arrangements. Twenty years later, they've had a revival via being sampled by a Spanish rapper and being the soundtrack to numerous TikTok videos. Strange Few's from their new album, but they still carry a lot of those 90s sounds with them.

It’s SO GOOD, right??
[avatar]
Aren't they awesome? They built a following large enough to fill Madison Square Garden without a record deal, or even a manager. They did it mostly through BandCamp (and being *incredibly* good at what they do!)
[avatar]
Indeed! It is such a pretty little song.
If you like that, check out the guy who does backing singing on the track. Up there as one of my favourite albums of 2024, and may inspire you further. ☺️
M J Lenderman- Manning Fireworks. (Stand out track, She’s Leaving You).

Blimey Marshall Crenshaw! I remember my brother and I driving on the motorway past the refineries of Immingham (imagine a small oil town on the Gulf of Mexico - that vibe) and hearing Cynical Girl on the radio. Bought it the same day at All Tomorrow's Parties in Scunthorpe. If you put a lyrics-only up this year, I will try to jangle the powerpop hell out of it (with permission). All the best for Feb - have a good one!

Hi @elainedimasi
Re: Dilettante - heck yes. Also, she is the most *organised* performer I've ever seen. She plays mutliple instruments within individual songs (guitar for 8 bars, cowbell for 1 bar, keys for 4 bars, sax break, back to guitar) and everything is about getting ready while she's playing and singing. She's so impressive. Well worth your time.

No clue! Probably why I’m no jazz genius

@gm7

Hi Elaine! Fourteen shmorteen, I'm happy to hear any amount of rock that you roll out 🤘
[avatar]
Welcome back, and happy FAWM!

(Looking forward to the vocal group. Be thankful I'm not on melody, or it would have been full-on doowop homage...)

Hi Elaine, great to see you again. Hope you have a wildly creative month. All the best to you!

Hi Elaine, welcome back! Me, rather than retiring, I'm retreading (see your email)
