@kristian: Finally found some spare time to finish another song! My first collab with David and he sent me this sketch which I tweaked away at.. want to do more but I am way behind already hehe.. forwards!

A few years ago, this incredible FAWMer called @lhcisco started this thing where they write a song called "Nice to see you again" every Fawm. This is my second year doing a Nice to See You Again song (first was here: https://soundcloud.com/mdavisto/nice-to-see-you-again-fawm2023-demo).

To me, FAWM is a magical place that comes into existence during February, and vanishes again in March. That's a good thing - it wouldn't be the same if it was just always here - but it does mean I pine for it in a particular way.

So this song is about old friends and lovers coming back; people you don't see anywhere else but here. And how amazing it feels while they're around, even though you know it won't last. And how you have to let them go after.

It's OK. You'll see them again.

Love this - I have some friends that I go on holiday with pretty much every year for the last 46 years and this song made me think of that - the looking forward to seeing old friends, comforting and exciting - I love the lines something is changing in the wind, that time is coming round, when you'll feel the call to come home, come on home - filled me with longing for my friends. Great arrangement - I like the laidback vibe and yet it still sounds full of hope and excitement and the instrumentals match the lyric perfectly. Enjoyed listening to it.

Great collab! The home-coming lyric is heartwarming.

The switch in feel between the intro and the verse conveys that feel, especially the warmth and lushness of the arrangement in the chorus.

It's almost 2AM here in California. I've been plugging away at a song and it's okay but not great and I'm going to finish it tomorrow and post it. So I'm tired and feeling like I'm just not in the flow anymore, and then I check on my old friend @mdavisto and find this little gem he did with @kristian who is now a new friend and I love it and it makes me happy.
