Liner Notes

I still haven’t finished my palindrome song from last week but the corporate overlords have drained my spirit

No shade if you got married on Valentines Day, but if you ordered a ring for it last minute, I’m mad @ you for professional reasons

Lyrics

..-. ..- -.-. -.- / - .... .. ... / -. --- .. ... .
Wait.. is this morse code… kind of cunty?

So I’m waiting in the Dunkin’ drive thru for like… 8 full minutes. Cars are beeping behind me; people are irate. Finally I ask, “Is anybody there?” A girl comes on and says, “Yah. We’re just understaffed and underpaid.” And I’m like “Same. Class solidarity. That’s why I need a little TREAT, to get through LATE STAGE CAPITALISM.” But it’s not her fault. So I just say, “Same.”

..-. ..- -.-. -.- / - .... .. ... / -. --- .. ... .
Fuck this noise

So I’m working overtime for Valentine’s Day, because some tacky fuckers like to get MARRIED on VALENTINE’S DAY. They’ve got their heart shaped stones and heart shaped halos, diamonds that DeBeer’s has been keeping in a vault since the 1970s to create a false sense of scarcity. Now I can’t relate to people who buy fine jewelry for minor holidays. It takes much less to make me happy. I just need a little TREAT, to get through LATE STAGE CAPITALISM.

..-. ..- -.-. -.- / - .... .. ... / -. --- .. ... .
Fuck this noise

I feel.. pretty pathetic for complaining about this. I know there are much worse things. I’m just sick of living like this. I wish I had time to make myself an egg and cheese croissant.

The monochrome morse code as the only melodic instrument over the drums really works for me. Relatable content.

This is brilliant!

Morse code beat question at the beginning-HILARIOUS!
Class solidarity, and yes I heard about the Deboer’s diamond generations long hoarding thing, like last night or the day before…? That’s true madness! Love what you do.

Brilliant spoken word piece. Love the simplicity and downbeat cool of it. Really good use of the morse code for the chorus.

Love the juxtaposition of expensive jewelry and waiting in a drive-though line - and that ending drives it home. Not having time to make myself something to eat is a pretty good definition of stressful.

Good rocks! Totally feeling this

Gawd, i would love an egg and cheese croissant. This is the second spoken word song I've come across and I love it.

This is really friggin' cool.

HARD AGREE!!!!
With all of this, the annoyance with Valentine's Day things, late stage capitalism. Needing a little treat.
Love the way you used Morse code, and cunty in your song!
*growls in class solidarity*

a couple of apt anecdotes depicting the anxieties of the lowe middle class int he last stages of capitalism set to the morsey beat.

Is it just me, or are there a lot of "Socialist/crush Capitalism" songs this year?!?
I'm loving the spoken word story against the confident upbeat percussion.
You know what kind of treat I need to get through late-stage Capitalism?!?
A guillotine.

This is very fucking cool. That morse code loop is proper hypnotic and with the weird little story and cool drums and harmonies and meaning I can get behind, it all comes together as wonderfully lofi, punky brilliance.

I, too, need a little TREAT to get through LATE STAGE CAPITALISM! This is such a good take on the Morse code prompt, it's got a great groove to it!
