I have been guilty of producing some morose stuff recently, I guess it is a by product of getting older and contemplating mortality.

So as a counterfoil to that here's a happy upbeat number

Shades of Aztec Camera, and Prefab Sprout especially with the 6,9 chord voicing

then why not have an unashamedly Celtic break out complete with Uilleann pipes and bodhran. Worthy of Planxty

But let's have a sinister clown cover art.

Good to hear you doing something upbeat like this! Fun mix of sounds, some of it is almost like modern jazz. "My heart is filled with love and I'm giving it all away" -- wish I'd written that!

Sweet! I just discovered Prefab Sprout this past winter and I definitely get that presence here. And yeah! to the Uillean pipes :-) I like the chord changes that come in with these little breakdowns. Agree with others, "giving up on life" is such a satisfying line.

I also like "take me at my word," I think that feeling that maybe we fear we won't, goes well with the wistfulness of that 6/9y stuff :-)

This is definitely a nice, upbeat number. It sort of reminded me of Summertime Girlfriend from a hundred years ago. I like your lyrics and the dissonance of the pipes when they come in. That part really grabs your attention in the best way. Well done.

You had me at "reel." I love Planxty, as does my Irish wife. Nice gentle vocals and great instrumentation that doesn't crowd out the tune. Great mix of Celtic music and rock.

If it wasn't Sunday morning and I'm tired and still working on my first coffee, I'd be up dancing! Nice upbeat feel. I almost downloaded uilean pipes for LABS the other day!

I love that ‘sweeter than raindrops’ verse especially - the imagery is sharp, and I love the contrast to the previous verse - it feels light and laid back with the ‘cool again’. Very much enjoyed the long intro/outro, and using it as a tool to create the feeling you wanted to evoke rather than lyrics

i really like your long intro. they do so much to set the mood and put me into a receptive mood for the song that emerges. the instrumental break is an exciting detour coming out of and going back into the song, which is a seductive and invigorating expression of love.
