This one came together last night--and popped up right out of order! It just demanded to be done, so here you go. Well, I had taken out an acoustic guitar, but really thought that it was a different one. This one has been recorded a million times in FAWM, but has lost it's place in the priority. I decided that I was going to do a capo song--and more specifically, a capo and cut capo song. I was concerned about its ability to stay in tune, but it managed just fine. When I recorded the foundational tracks with it, I instantly heard that sound from so many FAWM songs that I had from before. Anyway, this came about last night right away as I was just familiarizing myself with the cut capo thing. If you don't have one, you really should get one. So, I was thinking that it was going to be super mellow. Then I got the idea that it was going to be a rocker. Then I settled somewhere in between. I'm happy with it, as it sounds like it should--BUT, I definitely don't like how the acoustic part sounds so basic- at least to my ears. I'm actually playing a lot of different things that are really fun to play, but it gets lost in all of the frequencies of the song. After all of that, I like it.
The title comes from my sort of spirituality and focus on values in what I do. I am an intentional person. I also work at paying attention to the details of experiences. So, many attribute a great number of experiences to luck, chance, or whatever.....I don't think of them that way. I believe that we experience things that we need to get better at, experience because we have been lacking in that area, or the like. I love that idea because it creates purpose in my experiences, even when they feel like they are not necessary. I just have to find out what the point of learning or growth is.
I played a cheap Yamaha acoustic, Hofner 500/6 bass, an Agile Harm through a Vox AC15 and Leslie speaker

Nope. My wife might, but ask me. This one is REALLY a red carpet for vocals.

Very rich, very mellow. The music "feels" good. Will be cool to see how it works with vocals, but I'm exceedingly happy listening to it as is.

The bass just holds everything together and sounds great against the acoustics. I like when that electric guitar first comes in. And it all comes together at the end like a knot in a bow.

I like that shaky guitar layer that starts around 70 seconds in, but the lead guitar going around 2:30 was my favorite bit. Glad the latter came around again for the final section.

Ahhh Rob i adore this, and was humming a little tune along to it. I am in a manic music making mode right now as i have 3 days left of FAWM!! No worries if @majordanby fancies a crack at it, but i do fancy giving it a whirl just to see what pops out if you like. No worries if not matey xxx

Love this one, it's so warm and takes you on a journey! So good, Rob!

Man I love it when a track just comes together and everything is screaming to get written. I like that you mention how detail oriented you are. It shows in your music and it really does come through to the listener.

I love the sound of this, the soft toms and the gentle guitar rhythms. I especially like the chorus bits. Kind of early Radiohead. The song rolls along so nicely!

I can’t promise anything but I could definitely try to get some vocals down on this when I get back from holiday. Perhaps send me the WAV if you’d like and I’ll see if something comes out.

This gives me the same comfy vibe like last years songs. This is definitely a safe bed for a singer. Why do I hear a voice like Liz?

They demand when they want! Good instrumental but plenty of room for vocals if you so choose! Nice use of the pause!

This already feels complete without vocals. The soundscape is so rich with other voicings in the mids. The acoustic guitar is lush just the way it is. Above all I am digging that slidy catchy hook the electric guitar plays.

I instantly thought of Kurt Veil and Courtney Barnett, something slacker indie country rock adjacent…agree that this begs for vocal, so hopes someone picks it up. Don’t agree that the acoustics sound that basic, they make a solid bed for but leave space for vocals, could turn up the kick and snare a little bit and the Leslie guitar too but just cause I love that sound..
