Lyrics

February ... Comes creepin' 'round my door again.
I'm so weary ... of ice and wind and snow. I
Can't be bothered... to fit you in my calendar. It's
Long past time for you ... to pack your bags and go.

Noisy schoolkids... sledding through my neighborhood,
Salty crusts ... forming on my car.
February ... you surely can be nothing good,
You're so banished ... begone, go far!

Fevered dreams ... full of scary things:
Keys and strings ... and mic-ro-phones.
Empty pages ... crying out for lyrics now;
Why won't they leave me alone?

February ... you're creepin' 'round my door again.
I'm so weary ... of ice and wind and snow. I
Can't be bothered... to fit you in my calendar. It's
Long past time for you ... to pack your bags and go.

Long past time for you ... to pack your bags and go.

YES, constant storms here. Love the Uke and melody, what a great song and so relatable. I really like I can't be bothered to fit you in my calendar LOL!! Very clever!

Like the rhyme with February/weary. (And I'm SO glad you pronounced it with that first "r"!) 😀 Thanks for commenting on A Man I Don't Know, my collab with @sheslin. That's what brought me here to your page, which I am enjoying.

Great lyrics, imagery and blues music while being a uke song played with a happy lilt that defies the actual message, like "always look on the bright side of life!" Well-done!

Nice mix of telling and showing here. "Salty crusts forming on my car" was a particularly vivid and accurate picture for me... made the whole thing more relatable... and I'm done with it myself as well.

I felt this same way about January, man. Pack your bags and go!! And now I’m feeling it about February, too! Love the verse that starts with “fevered dreams” relatable to all of us FAWMers! That 1950’s uke sounds so good and your voice sounds great in this register. Really nice melodies here.

This is great! Classic form and wonderful execution. I feel this in WI for sure!

Oh shoot, where is that defebruator when man needs one? It is great that you're in position to one day pass ukelele on which'd make it recursively rooted, a good place to be in really, febrile or not.

Ohhh, yeahh! I love this so much, makes me think of everyone sittin out on the porch on rocking chairs or something! Lovely 😍

Not a great uke fan but this is nice and laid back - love "I can't be bothered to fit you in my calendar" - enjoyable song

This was a pleasant break for me in between a couple of work things. Your ukulele playing is excellent and the melody of your song was familiar but still included some twists. In short, a really great song and your vocal was perfect for it. Great work.

Really enjoyed this thank you, which was a shock because I'm not a big fan of the uke. It's very catchy, I feel like the melody is going to be stuck in my head for days!

Between you and Audrey, I'm starting to learn to love the uke as an instrument! Nice lyrics.

Nice melody! And you fit most of this song nicely into a meter, and when it didn't quite fit, I appreciate how you made it work (looking at you, third stanza). The lyrics never felt forced to fit. Well done! Thanks for letting me listen.

Great feel and lyrics to this (wouldn't work in the southern hemisphere! but here, we've got bushfire and blinding heat issues, wouldn't take much tweaking to do a southern version!). Enjoyed this.

Nice to get that uke out I reckon! It’s what you don’t say sometimes! Yah it Fawm. Love the vocal and instrumental phrasing .

I love the Ukulele in this song. I share your sentiments about this Month. love the vibe! :)

Hi there. I love the melody line of this - well complimented by the ukelele played with style. :-) Wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments about this time of year. You vividly bring to life those chilly winter scenes. Great songwriting. :-)
