Behavior Analyst / Director by day, amateur musician in my free time (when I'm not playing The Binding of Isaac or chowing down on some chicken wings) who recently moved to Philadelphia...

I've always loved singing and writing lyrics and have done some solo recordings, co-writing, and quite a few FAWM / 50/90 collabs... over the years I have been putting together a meager home studio situation.

I have a cursory understanding of my midi keyboard and have been screwing around in Ableton for years - some of my solo work and collab projects can be found on my YouTube page linked above - and I've also slowly been making progress on guitar, but I've got a long way to go.

Look forward to seeing what this 50/90 brings, and always appreciate feedback - also, open to any and all kinds of collaboration if you'd like a lyricist / vocalist / co-conspirator of some other sort.

Hit me up if you'd like to collaborate!

Thank you so much for your kind comments on 'Flicker'

Thank you, @chrismyth02 for your lovely comments on Happy Clappy Song. Glad you liked it. So long and thanks for all the fish ;)

Regarding "99 Points of Karma", be careful when you tell a guitar player to turn it up - and thanks for your comments on the song!
[avatar]
Wow, thanks so much for the compliments on my songs. Great to connect with folks (like you) who are meticulous about both performance and production in their own work, as it inspires me to push my own work harder!
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you! I'm happy you had some fun with my Karma lyrics. I love what John cooked :)
I'm super curious about how "No time for blues" evolves. Especially the lyrics!
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your recent comment on "It Don’t Land Easy" -- I appreciate the kind words!

@seppo
Oh, that was new band for you?
Such an great orchestra :)
Example Rusted from a rain would probably suit for you easily.
[avatar]
Will definitely be listening to and commenting on more of your songs this month! 💙
[avatar]
@seppo
Great voice dude, and yes I heard the SOAD but your high notes reminds me also from Billy Talent and I'm always wondered that could anyone make a believable cover from any of their song but I think you could pull it off with a little dirty accenting :)
[avatar]
Thank you for your “Happy Place” comment! Made me happy. :)
[avatar]
Do add some liner notes to be your ghost!
[avatar]
Thank you for the kind words!
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind comment on my Rainbows song. Following you on youtube 👍
[avatar]
I’ve set you a link to a demo file and lyric sheet - I’ll drop you a mail about recording 👍
[avatar]
@rowanb
Thank you so much for your kind comment on our collaborative song The Smell of Roses. Much appreciated!
[avatar]
@nadine
All cool! This also happens a couple of times. Maybe we should just set the click on 1/1 and forget about it all.
[avatar]
Thank You for all your support and for a beautiful collaboration, Christopher.
[avatar]
Great - I’ll sort out a first sketch and get it over to you asap - do you have an email I can contact you on?
[avatar]
In that case I’d be happy to do this a bit slower - the female singer in my band wanted me to work a song with her - if you are interested I could do the music and split the singing between you and her?
[avatar]
Hi - I would love to give your lyric a go - but I think I’ll struggle for time doing a more extensive musical collaboration.
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for your comment on my little jazzy jam! I have no idea where its going. Appreciated your words about my guitar playing. Took me another 3 hours to restring it today!
[avatar]
@nadine
Feel free to sing and scream along! You can do it!!!
[avatar]
@nadine
Hey Chris, we updated "I love my life" with music. Andrew completely got that eff you feeling you read between the lines.
[avatar]
Hi Chris, my collaboration with Rowan is posted on https://write.fawm.org/songs/20617
Thank you so much for being interested in hearing it.
[avatar]
Thanks for the encouraging comment on my song "Begin Again". Every now and then I come up with a big chorus like that one... ;)
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for your kind words on "Backwards"! Yes, I also like this composition a lot and hope that we find a band. At least a guitarist is needed. I look forward to work with it on Kate but we don't know if we can update our demo during FAWM.
[avatar]
No go for Nadine at the present time. I have reached out to another community member, @giantenemycliche who's material sounds are what I have in mind, so let's see what the response is. Time is running out on this year's February FAWM and I am still fairly new here. I don't know too many folks, a few, but not anyone who would do hard rock, alternative rock, punk or even metal.
[avatar]
Cool! Okay. I've reached out to Nadine. I don't know if the instrumentation part would interest her, but let's see.
[avatar]
Hi!
I was wondering if you might be interested in recording a lyric I wrote. Your vocals and the musical arrangement you guys did on Glimpse with @nadine & @ampersandman sound exacly what I have in mind on what I wrote called Can't Whisper". No worries if it doesn't interest you but I just thought to ask anyway. I like what I heard on that last collab you all did. Here's the lyric I wrote below. https://write.fawm.org/songs/19812#c82788

"little Bit of Lonely" has been Upgraded, with vocals and Lyrics. here: https://write.fawm.org/songs/20432

Thanks! You won't change my mind about the fact that this track belongs in my bottom third (fourth even), though 😀 I shouldn't have given it such a "triggery" title!
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for your comments! I'm happy that you enjoyed my quick write.

Its hard to join a morph chain without listening to it. Especially when some participants are on your watchlist...

Seems like I'm already celebrating FAWMover. I stopped writing songs, now I just want to finish my collabs and watch out for teams.
[avatar]
I am chomping at the bit to hear what you're going to do with my song The Actor.
[avatar]
Yeah, cheers, thanks for the comments on the morph before your morph. I was trying to do a little more rock and get out of my folky place. The song before roy's song that he morphed also rocked and then he took it down several notches, so the patterns are cool to see unfold.

Side trivial note since you mention it, I believe one of my favorite fawmers Joe Kennedy played with (toured with?) Pete Yorn. Can't remember why I know that. Joe writes some smoooooth pop and has a song up this year, check him out.
[avatar]
Thanks Chris!! It came out of nowhere, but I am thankful for the lesson!!! It made me more of a writer in order to cope that is for sure!
[avatar]
@nadine
Good idea! I didn't write something today. And I won't tomorrow. Maybe I won't at all?
[avatar]
@nadine
You're welcome! Just out of curiosity... are you planning to hit the 14 this time? I probably won't.
[avatar]
Hello hello, you're up in the #morph3 chain, good luck! Here's what you're working with: https://write.fawm.org/songs/18166

@sph
Hi Chris, thanks for listening and commenting
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you, Chris! It's hard for me to imagine a vocal melody when I read lyrics...
And thanks for your comment on the "Blackout Blues". I'm curious about the lyrics and vocals. Maybe they'll help me to rearrange the song.
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind words on "Runes Shining in the Mist"! I'm glad you enjoyed my vocals and lyrics :)
[avatar]
Thank you. Might make a full slothcore album next year for the fun of it 😀
[avatar]
@thetau
Sent you an email with a new song. I'll be placing it up on my profile, but I assume you will want to do the top-line, so I'll hold off anyone who is wanting to create lyrics and vocals. Send me an email when you get it.

Chris,
In Glimpse you asked “Did you live a meaningful life, were you virtuous?” And I didn’t want to takeover the comment section as I have a tendency of being “too much” sometimes I’ve been told. This past October, I was hospitalized for 3 days with a large tumor in my head that caused me to go blind in one eye. Neurosurgeons prepped me for ER surgery and I closed my eyes thinking this can’t be real, this can’t be happening, how did I miss the signs? I became warm all over and flooded with this overall feeling of gratitude. I accepted it and thought how replaceable am I? That was my thought as I was watching everyone scramble around me with my MRI results (it ended up being best case scenario and I’m fine now). Everything keeps going—my workplace, my school, music world, this hospital…it keeps moving regardless. We are here for those roles where we aren’t replaceable. That was my message!! I hope it was ok to share that. Your collab sounds great and I can’t wait to check it out with the full @nadine production she’s so good at!! Thanks for listening.

@nadine
Thanks for your comment on "High Noon". What a pity Breaking Bad ended, and I didn't watch further than season 3. You're right it could it in there.

I'm curious about the backing track of Minesota. Everybody comes with a different idea ^^

@thetau
Hi Chris,
I got my computer up and running, Finally. I sent you an email regarding what we have been working on from last year. I'll be sending you something here at FAWM. a little later, but I want to discuss the Album we are working on. Now that my computer is UP and running. we can get back to work. Send me an email and we can work out all the details.

Thank you...I appreciate the help and support!

Thank you Chris for your kind words on A Winter's tale, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
[avatar]
Thanks for the encouragement on "Fish Baby Birthday." I was feeling really out of my comfort zone with that one.
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for your comment on "Right side of the road". Yes, that's the morph you also have to do, so I'm curious to hear your version! Don't forget to listen to all the songs of the chain AFTER you done your version. It's a great fun of this game :)
I feel sort of home in punk rock, because I produced and co-wrote a band for many years...
[avatar]
Thanks for the comment on "Forebodes". Oh whats to come? Something bad I guess
[avatar]
Thanks for giving "The Only Way to Hang On" a whirl. I thought that there was great emotion in the lyric that @nancycunning presented and that guided my musical approach to the song.
[avatar]
Thanks for noticing the subtleties in my song and leaving me such a thoughtful comment!!
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks a lot for your comments on princess! I've been in the right mindset to scream this way. I hope I get a full band cause the lyrics have a meaning.
[avatar]
Hey Chris, I have uploaded Mama dang left us - I know its a little cheat but never mind. Thanks for the vocal track on this...
[avatar]
Hi, Chris. I love your vocals and look forward to hearing more this time around. Congrats for also being able to tackle the production end of things!
[avatar]
Hey Chris, great to know you’re back. I’m definitely up for a collaboration
[avatar]
Haha, TBOI is definitely addictive. I suppose ADHD + procedurally / randomly generated games with some sort of challenge (like getting through without dying all in one go or competing against someone) and frequent level up rewards is basically a recipe for getting hooked on a game. Now that I know I have ADHD it makes a lot more sense why I would get excited about video games until the point where leveling up becomes a grind but games like TBOI or Rocket League are endlessly entertaining for me.

@thetau
Hey Chris Just dropped in to say Hello. BTW you should add 'Top-liner' to your resume. You do created a good tune.
Russ > just another Co conspirator

Hi Chris! Happy FAWM!

Binding of Isaac and analyzing people's behavior. We have stuff in common :)

Thank you, Chris, this will be awesome.
