Lyrics

I Can't Feel Nothin
by Gary Ray Knowland

I can't feel nothin for the people
only interested in starting war.
Most times the ones who die
are never really sure of what they're fighting for.

I can't feel nothin for the predators
who terrorize the weak and young.
We've got to filter out the refuse
that we do not want to live among.

I feel no sympathy
darkness is all I see.
Maybe something's wrong with me,
but all I see is greed.

I can't feel nothin for the rich and privilged
lookin down their nose at me.
They judge the people by the power
in the branches of your family tree.

I feel no sympathy
darkness is all I see.
Maybe something's wrong with me,
but all I see is greed.

I can't feel nothin for the cyberpunks
who want to steal my life away.
They face no consequence and only god
will judge them for the pain they make.

I can't feel nothin
I don't feel nothin
I can't feel nothin oh yeah...
I won't feel nothin

Amazingly original composition, love your vocal and production on this. the lyric is fantastic and very relatable. Love the perspective to what is going on. Other than the extra "u" in "Among"..." I don't see nothin" wrong with anything in this song...brilliant! Great to hear you again as well!!! This was a very pleasant surprise!

Wow, after listening to your two country songs this one is kinda amazing and different in a great way! I love everything about this! I love your guitars blazing! I love that sick beat! I love that "take it down" background vocal! And your lead vocals are the best I think I ever heard from you! This one is ready for the Grammys!!!

Great sounds, production, singing and playing. Cool song!

Nice work, I love the harmonies. You have me hooked listening to what you will come up next.

Very cool song! I especially love the family tree line, the well-placed harmonies, and the “take it downs”!

Nice work! We gotta keep sticking it to the man. Your production style here inspired me to get more ambitious with my FAWM recordings!

Very cool. Add me to your list of groupies, lol.

I've listened to this a couple of times now, and I keep returning. I absolutely dig the mash-up of the classic guitar tones with the intentionally processed-sounding drum machine. It gives it a fantastic vibe. Glad to see the prevalence of good ole protest songs - this is an ace example!

I know I should be listening to new FAWM songs I've not heard yet but DAMN, this one is so good I have to keep coming back for more!

Wonderful protest song! This makes one helluva an impression. Thanks for being on it!

Awesome protest song! I second the comment from @tan482 on the "family tree" line. Also enjoyed the stereo panning in the bridge. Really nice.

Digging the melody and phrasing. It's cool. And I'm digging the antiwar sentiment. Seems pretty ubiquitous in politics these days, though. Well, actions rather than words. But I digress. Cool musical take. That lead guitar is diiiiiirty. I like it.

Fabulous song with an awesome message. I wrote a war themed song myself for my first song too.

Such a great riff that is sure to be in my head long after I finish listening! I love the line “They judge the people by the power
in the branches of your family tree.”

Off to a strong start!! Such a perfect song for these scary times. Love the grit and power of your voice and all of the instrumentation. Bravo!

What a fantastic way to open your FAWM! This is so damn catchy. Great lyrics and a superb vehicle to push the message. I love it. 😃

Damn, Damn, Double Damn, Gary! This is such an awesome song! First your lyrics are absolutely brilliant and spot on to describe our current situation! And your delivery of them is, well, a bit north of fantastic! I think this may be your best vocal performance ever (and you've had some great ones!!) The beat on this song just drives the whole thing right through my heart and into my brain to live there all day! You have very compelling change ups and dynamics in the music that make this a delight to listen to. And then to listen to again! This very well may just be my favorite Grayland song ever! Well done, my friend. Extremely well done!

Brilliant and yes, similar to mine. Greed is so horrible and does such harm. Love it!

The empty vessels are the ones whose greed gets put front and centre. There doesn't seem to be the same soapbox for those in need sometimes. Those who see it as a competition are probably more likely to not care who gets burned. But that's not inclusive of those who also deserve to live in peace. Maybe yes God will judge them in the end, but I think this is a good protest to not feel pain for those who make pain their game.

Ohhh, this hits deep with events of past and present. If there is another Woodstock, this would be the perfect place to perform it at. Fantastic performance that just melds every emotional word. Phew.... I think everyone that listens to this is going to relate and feel the pain. Strong start to FAWM!

Big fan of protest songs right here, and this is an instant classic.

Fine lyric, very apt. Love the rhythm to this! Nice little riff! Very good listen all round, the pacing is spot on.

Great combination of rock and a background that owes a lot to house or rap.
Totally in harmony with your lyrics. We "live in interesting times" (as the old Chinese curse puts it).

Kind of dig the modern sounding percussion against the mid-60's sounding guitars - dig the message, as well.
